The five scientists who designed XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero in AC 180 went their own separate ways. Each one took copies of the plans for their original Gundam design. Doctor J, who went into hiding in the L1 colonies, as the other 4, who went into hiding in the L2-5 colonies, had all designed their own Gundam with the copies of Wing Gundam Zero. Doctor J, had built the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam, which was the Gundam that most resembled Wing Gundam Zero in Form and Armaments. Wing Gundam was equipped with Beam Sabers, Vulcan Guns, and Machinecannons. It also had the powerful Buster Rifle, which was capable of firing an energy beam wide enough to destroy several enemy suits in a single shot. The only drawback was that it could fire three shots before having to recharge. OZ named this Gundam, "Gundam 01", was also capable of transforming into a fighter-like Bird Mode, Which was for added Mobility and Atmospheric Flight.
Wing Gundam was of course, strong enough to withstand its own attacks. It has an almost indestructable Gundanium Alloy Fitting, capable of withstanding from Point-Blank shots and Multiple Enemy Fire, to even Large Beams (even its own self-destruct system left most of the mobile suit fairly intact). These factors had made Wing Gundam an incredibly powerful enemy to OZ, when it was sent to Earth to fight against OZ in AC 195. And in the hands of its suicidal pilot, Heero Yuy, it was truly a force to be feared.
