Disclaimer: (DUH) Yugioh is _not_ owned by me, its characters aren’t owned by me (except Kamira and Kamirah, duh!) and Makiira belongs to *blinkblink*, the owner of the Pillar of Salt and Shadows of Happiness fic. ^_^ Whatever…the idea isn’t mine, and so forth and so forth. Except – Whispers from the Past is mine!! All mine!!! *Yells as her still sane aibou drags her off the com* Yami and Yugi came to a stop as Ryou and Yami Bakura stopped too. Ryou was looking worried. “Are you sure this is the way, aibou?” They were stuck in front of a solid wall. “Of course!! The Millennium Ring never lies.” Yami Bakura snapped, adjusting the Ring. It pointed front. Yami, Yugi and Ryou sweat dropped. “That’s what you call a dead end, Yami Bakura.” Not willing to give up, Yami Bakura felt everywhere on the wall. “But it can’t be!! The Millennium Ring…never…lies…” He gritted his teeth as he continued searching the place. He yelled as he touched something dusty. Yami Bakura withdrew his hand in shock, and screamed as he saw a white-to-the-bone skeleton. Strangely enough… He saw that there was something written on the wall – in ancient Egyptian. He and Yami Yugi leaned closer, and squinted their eyes with the little light that was available in the place. “He who enters this place as unsuspecting as mice, he will definitely pay the price,” Yami Bakura began. “Thou who enters this place, be prepared to lose the race.” Yami Yugi said, puzzled. ‘What the hell are these people trying to say?’ “You who forbiddingly enters the ancient Chamber, you will be trapped forever in a deep slumber…what the hell!?” Yami Bakura yelled out loud, backing from the wall. Yami Yugi held out a hand to silence him. “There’s more…with the Millennium Puzzle, you will be allowed to enter, without it you may find yourself shatter.” Yami looked at the golden pyramid he held in his hands, and clutched it hopefully. Next to those hieroglyphics, there was a empty triangle slot. Yami looked at the slot, then looked at his puzzle. ‘Must I put this in the slot?’ he wondered. He read on. “With the Millennium Ring you may enter without further ado; without it you may be dead too.” There was another slot next to the triangular slot. It showed the shape of the Millennium Ring. The Millennium Puzzle glowed with a golden light, and the Millennium Ring glowed blue in contrast. Ryou and Yugi looked at each other, and they nodded. They entered the two Millennium Items in the slots. The wall glowed bright gold and blue, and suddenly light illuminated the corridor. Yami squinted, and saw a rather big Sennen Eye engraved upon the wall. It was glowing with the brightest light of all… The wall opened, revealing a chamber within. As Yami and the others stepped inside it… They were each struck with something hard. The Millennium Puzzle and the Millennium Ring fell askew as they all fell unconscious. Two scarlet eyes opened in the midst of the darkness. Yami sat up, rubbing the back of his head, and groaned as he saw blood. “Shit…” He saw his aibou lying next to him, the Millennium Puzzle lying a few inches away. He picked it up, and gently put it around his aibou’s neck. Yugi made a little moan, and tried to open his eyes. When he did, he looked into the concerned face of his elder. “Ah…” Yami made a “hush” motion, putting his finger to his lips, and looked around cautiously. //Aibou, I think we’d better be one person again. Is it all right with you?// /Yeah, I think something’s not right here…/ As if to prove it, Yugi sniffed, and winced. “Eww…I get the impression we’re in some pig sty.” Yami slapped a hand to his forehead in exasperation. //Just because it _smells_ like it, aibou, doesn’t mean it is a pig sty…in fact, I think we’re still in the Pyramid.// With that, the Millennium Puzzles glowed, and Yugi was sucked inside his own. Yami glanced around. Ryou and his Yami were nowhere to be seen… He saw a door in front of him as his Millennium Puzzle glowed with a guiding light. It had the carving of the Sennen Eye on it. Yami opened the door… And found himself face to face with the woman – Kamirah. Her mouth was curved in a knowing smile, a smile of which he hated her for. Her blue eyes sparkled with certain evilness, and her black bangs really made her look like a witch. “Ah, Yami, I see you have come. Do come in…” Kamirah motioned. Yami looked at her resentfully. Kamirah noticed this, and gave an impatient “tuh”. “Aw, c’mon, Yami, don’t you believe me?” she said, sneering, fingering her whip in her hands. ‘Certainly not,’ was what Yami was thinking. Kamirah smiled, as though she could read his mind. “If you think so…” She clapped her hands, and a giant glass pyramid appeared. Ryou, Yami Bakura, Honda, Jounouchi, Yami’s mother and Grandpa were trapped inside it. “M-mina!!” Yami said in shock. “Yugi!!” Ryou said in fear. “Dammit, release us, you!!!” Yami Bakura cursed. “Yami!!!” Jounouchi and Honda called. “Yugi-kun!!” Yugi’s mom and grandfather said sadly from inside the great glass pyramid. {Yugi…} Yami looked around. “Who – who’s that?” He feared it might be who it thought it was. “Kamira…?” He glanced at Kamirah, and saw the little one’s scared face looking at him from within the Millennium Orb. {Yes…please, save Ryou…save…Anzu…} “What!?” Kamirah clapped her hands again, and this time – a rope appeared out of thin air, and a young girl appeared, coiled in the rope. It was Anzu. And clearly enough, she was unconscious. She hung from the rope, and the rope silently slithered around her neck, and tightened itself. “ANZU!” he yelled. Anzu regained consciousness, and opened her eyes. Her dark brown hair flowed softly on her face. She managed a weak smile. “Yugi…oh…” Yami cursed. Goddammit, the woman had Anzu as prisoner!! “That isn’t all,” Kamirah said quietly, interrupting Yami’s thoughts. She snapped her fingers, and knives appeared out of nowhere. The glistening weapons circled around Anzu, weightless, and Anzu restrained herself from screaming. She was used to this already…Kamirah had done this to her countless times. Kamirah waved her fingers, and one of the knives positioned itself below Anzu’s chin, glinting against the dim light in the room. It slowly, so slowly, turned its sharpened end and drew itself over Anzu’s neck…and warm blood trickled from the delicate skin. Anzu tried not to shriek out loud… ‘Yugi…’ Yami gritted his teeth. “Ku…” Kamirah smirked. “Yeah, I know. Want to rescue her?” She stepped forward to Anzu, and ran an evil finger down her jaw line. “Well…you’ll have to play my game, Yami.” She turned to Yami, hate and despise mirrored in those inhuman turquoise eyes. “You will have to play my game…I want you to pay for what you did to me 3 Millenniums ago… ” Yami clenched his fist. “Whatever, hell!! Just keep your hands off her!!” he shouted angrily. “OK, OK,” Kamirah said, grinning cruelly, holding up her hands in a mocking sort of way. “Well…it shall go as how we usually play your game, Yami…” Yami cringed in anger. ‘Goddammit!’ The Eye of Ra appeared on Kamirah’s forehead, and her black bangs flew astray as a soft gale blew throughout the room. Her blue eyes shone maliciously. The Millennium Orb glowed with a soft white light. The Millennium Ankh glinted brightly on her chest. “Let’s begin.” A black mist surrounded them, and he looked around in fear. What the hell was happening? Kamirah waved her delicate hands, and flames surrounded Anzu. A board appeared in front of Yami, each of them with a Sennen Eye engraved on its front. The knives were set on fire. The Ankh floated above the ground as it circled around the tiles. Yami cursed. “Goddammit!!! What the hell are you doing, Kamirah!?” Kamirah smiled. “The rules are simple, Yami. You turn over each of the boards…(there were about 15) if one of them is empty then there will be no harm. If you turn one over with your friends’ names on it, or your families…then one of them will be sacrificed.” She said quietly. “If you manage to get mine, Yami Kamira, then it considers you’ve passed the first test, and those sacrificed before then will return. If – you pass.” The Millennium Ankh shone dangerously. “There are 6 empty ones, eight of them have all of your friends’ and family’s names, including your aibou.” Yugi winced. “And if all of your friends and others are sacrificed, including Hikari Yugi, then its Game Over. Then, you may turn one over per turn. When it’s my turn, I don’t play, but I sacrifice whoever it is that had its name written on the plate you’ve turned over. If it’s empty, you may have another turn right after it. But when you’ve turned 8 over and you still haven’t found mine…” the Eye of Ra glowed brightly on her forehead. “It means Game Over Das Ende. Which means, all of your friends will die…” She looked pointedly at the glass pyramid, and glanced evilly at Anzu. “…Including your little koi over there.” Anzu opened her eyes weakly, and looked understandingly at Yami. ‘Don’t worry, Yami. I have trust in you.’ Her chocolate-coloured hair blew softly, and cascaded down behind her shoulders. “Anzu…” Yami looked sadly at her, his sympathetic red eyes lingering upon his koi’s scratched body. “Begin.” Yami and Yugi split apart, and Yugi looked thoughtfully at the patterns. “I think you should choose that one, aibou,” Yugi said, pointing to one on his left. (A/N: Check out my doujinshi section for more details. :P) Yami nodded, and turned it over. He sighed in relief when he saw it was empty. Kamirah snarled. Yami took over another tile, and gasped. On it was the name ‘Honda’. Kamirah smiled. “My turn, Yugi-kun.” The Millennium Orb glowed, and Kamirah pointed a finger at Honda. “Punishment of Darkness!!” Honda yelled, and Yami looked in shock as Honda disappeared amongst wisps of smoke. “Honda-kun!!!!” Yami shouted. Yugi fell to his knees, and his eyes were expressionless. “Honda…kun…” Jounouchi and Ryou were devastated. “Honda – Honda-kun!!” Yami looked sadly at all of them. ‘It would have been better if I did not know you all. You wouldn’t be in this danger if it wasn’t because of the Millennium Puzzle…and because you are my friends…’ Kamirah smirked. “Your turn.” Yami’s hand shook as he turned over another tile. It was empty. Yugi looked at Yami in fear. /Aibou, are you confident about this?/ //Yes – I think.// Yami mentally looked at Anzu, and tried to stop himself from letting a tear fall. Kamirah scowled, and motioned for Yami to go on. Yami shivered slightly as his outstretched hand took over a tile… “Jounouchi!!” Yami yelled in shock. He could only watch helplessly as the Sennen Eye appeared on Kamirah’s forehead, and Jounouchi disappeared in a blaze of light. Yami broke down, clutching his face. “Jounouchi-kun…” “Giving up, Yami no Yugi?” Kamirah asked mockingly, twiddling her Millennium Orb. “I daresay you won’t, knowing how stubborn you are…your turn.” Yami clenched his fists, and proceeded. Next…Jii-chan…Jii-chan!? “Jii-chan!!!!” Yugi’s grandfather disappeared as dust surrounded him. ‘Yugi!! Don’t give up!!’ Grandpa coughed before finally disappearing into thin air. Yami cursed. “Ku…” Ryou looked down at them, fear emblazoned upon his face. “Yugi-kun!!” “Mum!!!!” Mum disappeared as a typhoon surrounded her, and Kamirah’s smile widened. Yami cursed again, and turned over the next pile. He gasped in horror as he saw what name was engraved upon it: Hikari no Yugi. Yugi stared in shock as white smoke began to engulf his body, and the Millennium Puzzle around his neck shattered as it fell to the ground. His surprised scarlet eyes looked in sadness at Yami. “Yami!!!!!!!” Yugi said in shock, reaching out to Yami, his hand outstretched. “Yugi – Yugi-kun!!!!” Yami tried to get hold of Yugi’s hand, but as he did, Kamirah waved her hand, and Yugi disappeared completely. The parts of the Millennium Puzzle fell to the ground, and the piece with the Sennen Eye upon it shattered, the remaining others lay on the floor before Yami. Yami fell to his knees. “Yugi…Aibou!!!” A tear trickled down the left side of his cheek, and the Game King couldn’t store them any longer. The tears flowed freely, from his face and onto the floor below, making drip drop sounds as they did. Ryou and Yami Ryou could only look at Kamirah in hatred. Yami Ryou, especially. “Goddamn that little b****!!!” he cursed. Ryou glanced at the ex-princess and gritted his teeth, as the sweet innocent image of Kamira flooded his mind. “Only one more left, Yami no Yugi…give up…” Kamirah smirked, laughing wickedly. “You will rather lose your family and friends than your reputation, won’t you?” Yami looked up at her in hatred, and tried to think of which tile to turn over. “Which…which…” As Yami was thinking, he was lapsed into his thoughts... If I lose… Ryou will die… Jii-chan, Honda, Jounouchi, Mum too… And Kamira. She’s sealed in the Millennium Orb…I have to save her for Ryou’s sake… Anzu…will be kept as a slave to that goddamned woman for eternity… And aibou. My light…my little light will be destroyed if I lose this game…the Millennium Puzzle will be broken to pieces…and then I won’t be there to protect aibou any more… How… If I lose… A glowing light revolved around Yami. His golden bangs danced softly in the slight breeze blowing their way. He looked at himself in astonishment. “Nani!? What’s happening!?” Kamirah looked at him in shock. “What the hell…what the hell is happening?” Suddenly, his leather suit and his Domino High School jacket were replaced with a white cloth that wrapped itself around him, and golden bangles and garments appeared on his slender body. He gazed in wonder at the shining accessories. “How…” Kamirah was stunned. Could it be… ‘ Could it be the Millennia-old Pharaoh is being revived!? His memories regained…?’ The symbol of the Sennen Eye appeared on Yami’s forehead, and one of the tiles glowed in response from it. Yami turned over the tile, and glanced at Kamirah in triumph as the tiles revealed only one word: Kamirah. She was astounded. “How…how did you…” She cursed, and waved her hands. All Yami’s allies and families appeared next to him, looking happy and grateful. “Yami!!” Yugi appeared the last, and he smiled upwards affectionately at his elder, who smiled back. Yami took his little light in a warm embrace – one where you would hug your little brother if he had been lost or missing for a long time…just like Seto and Mokuba would. Yugi smiled again, and his violet eyes locked with Yami’s scarlet ones. Yami rubbed noses with his younger, and grinned, something he rarely did, and rubbed the red-and-black tousle of hair of his aibou. //I’m so glad you’re back, aibou…// /Hai, Yami!/ Kamirah looked at all of them with eyes bearing hatred so much, she would have been liable to go aflame. “Well, I will see you in the next competition, Yami…bring your deck.” She strode off. She snapped her fingers, and Anzu disappeared with her. Yami clutched his deck, his spirit blazing. He glanced at his hikari, and Yugi put his hand on the deck, and smiled supportively at his aibou. /We can do it!! For Anzu’s sake…/ //Hai!// Yami smiled, and high-fived his aibou. The two just glanced at Kamirah’s retreating shadow, her laugh echoing in the dark corridor… YC: Oui, how was I? ^_^ Hope it was OK…anywayz, feedback at tomoe_miho@hotmail.com!! It’s the holidays!
