As said before, Akira changed the face of Anime forever. In 1989, the movie was released and expresses vivid forms of violence and great detail in the drawings. Many people loved the movie.

The Story starts and the great city of Tokyo is destroyed. In 2019, Neo Tokyo was built in the ruins of former Toyko. This new Tokyo is run by biker gangs and violent crowds of people. In all of this is a kid named Tetsuo. Tetsuo is a motercycle riding fool, and one day he lost a fight to another gang and is picked up by the military. The military now has goals to bring out the physic abilities of Tetsuo. While this goes on, Tetsuo begins to see hallucinations and finds another being called Akira. Throught the show, Tetsuo is always trying to challange Akira.

Main Characters

Kai: Kai is the one that organizes many attacks against the government to rid their power over Neo Tokyo. When she finds out about the expiriments on Tetsuo, she becomes eager to stop them. When you first meet her, she seems not to like Kaneda, but eventually falls for him at the end.

Kaneda: The leader of a Neo Tokyo bike gang that Tetsuo is a member of. Because of Tetsuo's size, Kaneda tries his best to look after him. He loves controlling his gang and even more, he loves motorcycles. He soon finds the love of his life, Kai, and tries to get with her the whole show.

Tetsuo: The main character of the show, Tetsuo is always being looked out for. He hates being small, and to prove he is tough, he tries weird things. One day while in a fight with the clowns, he is ingured and picked up by the military. They extract his phycic powers and he eventually meets Akira, who he is determined to beat.
