Anime?
Anime (an·i·me) is defined as a style of animation developed in Japan, characterized by stylized colorful art, futuristic settings, violence, and sex. It was first created by a man named Osamu Tezuka in 1951. He spent much of his time drawing, and had no interest in anything else. The Anime he created was called Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy). By 1963, Astro Boy was running on TVs throughout Japan.
After people saw that this was making money, they developed many animes and this carried on throughout the 1970's, when the most watched Anime was Galaxy Express 999. The famous Transformers was inspired by the 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam.
Things went on, pretty much the same. Then something came to be that many people consider the most important Anime of our time. Akira. 1989, the movie was released, and changed the way everyone, thought, dreamed, and imagined of Anime. The definition of Anime above was defined by this Anime alone. Now, for the most popular era for Anime, the 1990's.
