It the year of 2000, a giant meteorite struck Antarctica. Nearly half of the whole earth's population is whipped out and almost all cities are destroyed. The people that are left have to handle harsh conditions and constant flooding due to the ice caps melting.

The year is 2015 and the human race is forced to shelter themselves in subterranean houses and cities. There is a horrible war and the victor will seize what is left of earth and what it has to hide. There are only two sides, the Angels, and the humans. The humans have developed a team called NERV and an ultimate weapon, the Evangelions..

Main Characters

Shinji Ikari - Pilot of EVA-01. Ikari ran away from his parents when he was smaller and after the loss of his mother, who was very dear to him. He has had a troubled life and doubts if he should pilot the EVA-01. When it comes to problems, he will run away before facing them.

Gendo Ikari - Father of Shinji Ikari and NERV Commander. He is a very smart man, who is a good leader when it comes to his goals. He is not a good father though. He looks at Shinji as a disgrace to his name and doesn't communicate with him that often. The only goal Gendo has is to carry out the wishes of his wife, and prevent a third impact from the Angels.

Rei Ayanami - Pilot of the EVA-00 and extremely hard to get to know. She does what she is told, and there is little or no resistance form her. She has no parents, she was created by the human instrumentality project, and had the soul of Yui Ikari implanted into her. NERV has created many bodies for her soul. She has been killed twice, once by Naoko Akagi and the other by the sixteenth Angel.
