About the Author:

Name: Rumiko Takahashi
Born: On October the 10th, 1957 in Niigata/Japan.
Job: Creator of InuYasha, and artist.

She attended woman's college in Tokyo, where she studied with Koike Kazuo, author of "Crying Freeman". In 1978, Takahashi won a prize in Shogakukan's annual "New Comic Artist Contest", and in the same year her comic "Lum*Urusei Yatsura" began appearing in Shonen Sunday. Urusei Yatsura ran for over 9 years, selling over 22 million copies. She created her own Magazine, the Shonen Sunday, mainly filled with Manga. This ran for nine years, and she started to create "Ranma 1/2." This was based on a guy who could change into a girl depending on whether hot or cold water was poured on him... With the publication of Ranma 1/2 vol. 34, Takahasi sold over 100,000,000 copies around the world. A tax report released in recent years showed Takahashi as one of the richest people in Japan. Takahashi is considered by many to be one of the world's most popular manga artists. Takahashi has also drawn short stories, that have been published in Ameria called "Rumic Theater"; these sagas called "Mermaid" series. They are known as Mermaid's Forest, Mermaid's scar, Mermaid's gaze and Mermaid's gaze. Most of her work was turned into anime, and InuYasha - the most recent manga, was first published in Shounen Sunday in November the 13th, 1996. Then it was turned into an animation in 2000, running up to around 79 episodes... and currenly STILL not completed...

Other works she has done:

Ranma 1/2 (probably the most popular other then InuYasha)
Lum Urusei Yatsura
Maison Ikkoku
Mermaid Saga
Rumic World and Rumic Theatre
One Pound Gospel
