Bedroom make-over
Before
This is the before picture. All white walls, 2
non-matching night tables, no curtains (old ones were taken down a loooong time
ago for cleaning and never put up again! LOL), old trunk (now in my craft room
to store big tools and tool box).
This is now.
The
faux-finish (which is very easy to achieve) on the bed wall gives the room
an old natural look that I really like and that goes very well with the wooden
furniture. The colors are very soothing and it's a nice room to relax.
To accessorize the room, I decided to go simple : sheer for the window treatment, little gold touches, simple small frames of celestial stuff (a subtil theme in the room), of flowers and of family members.

I bought new lamps and new night tables.
Those tables
were really inexpensive but they are very simple and have no shelf or storage at
all,
so I bought little baskets (one under each table) to store books and
magazines.
I hung a plant in a basket in the corner in front of the
window.
It warms the room to have some greenery and since the plant comes
down, it fills quite some space.
This is a close-up of the window. I had bought a nice
wood pole and when I got home and wanted to install it,
I realized I could
not put the finial on the left because the window is too close to the
corner.
So I opted for drawer knobs screwed in the frame, much cheaper and
more original.
This is a little armoire I built with scraps of
wood. I use it to store my hairspray, gel, etc, which were all on my dresser
before.
The door is made of wire, which is hard to see on the picture, but it
looks nice. I used gold paint for swirls and stars,
just like the paper I
used to lined the back inside the armoire.
