Andrew J and Miranda J Tennant Pyeatt

Andrew J Pyeatt was born to Peter and Polly Miller Pyeatt in 1835 in Washington Co, Arkansas. He married on August 21, 1855, in Washington County, Arkansas, Miranda Jane Tennant (book A pg 453) who was the daughter of Thomas H and Christine Hacker Tennant and was born c1838 in Arkansas.

Andrew served in the Confederate Army in Company H 15th (Northwest) Arkansas Infantry. Also in this unit were brothers Alvin F Pyeatt and William H Pyeatt.< p> The known children of Andrew and Miranda are:

Miranda's sister, Ada Tennant, was married to Andrew's brother, John. Their younger sister half-sister, Henrietta "Hettie" Josephine Tennant (d/o Thomas H and Clarissa White Tennant) later married Peter C Pyeatt, a nephew to the two Pyeatt brothers.

Andrew's family appeared in a household with his brother, Jacob Pyeatt, on the 1860 census in Cane Hill, Washington County, Arkansas:

This family was enumerated #738/163 pg 580 image 106/338. Neighbors were #734 Jacob Sexton, #735 Ebenezer Miller, #736 Samuel Clipin, #737 Eli Smith, #739 Richard Leach. Margaret shouldn't be 1 if the baby is 8 months old. In 1880 they had a daughter age 14 with the same initial. So, I think the age of Margarett might be "4".

Andrew and family appeared as follows on the 1870 census of Boonesboro, Cane Hill, Arkansas:

This family was enumerated #203 pg 96B Boonesboro Sep 1870. Living nearby was Andrew's brother, Jesse Pyatt. Other neighbors were J R Brim (includes 12-year-old female Pyatt Brim), Jesse Rector, G W Scott, Thos Morrow, Robert Leach, M E Janes, Wm Sexton, D H Caldwell.

Andrew and his family moved from Washington County, Arkansas, to Bell County, Texas, between 1870 and 1873 and appeared in Enumeration District #6 as follows on the 1880 census:
