Minutes of ABATE District 9 General Meeting August, 2000  

• Roll call - 27 members present + 3 guests
• Meeting was called to order at 7:15pm
• Minutes read by Keith DuPriest. Motion made, seconded, and carried, to accept the minutes as read
• Treasurer’s report read by Waylon Brown. Motion MS & C to accept Treasurer’s report as read
• Old Business: Discussed need to sell remaining Bike Show t-shirts. Have 3-XXL’s and 1-XXL left.
• New Business: Discussed upcoming events (August & September). Handed out additional flyers for ABATE STATE RALLY coming up August 25th-26th. Took tentative head count of those (at the meeting) who were planning to participate in our upcoming monthly dinner ride, group ride, D10 Watermelon Festival/Bike Show, and State ABATE Rally.
• Jim Barner gave us a complete report about his harrowing, near-fatal accident in Missouri, as he was headed for Little Sturgis, Kentucky.
• Began going over preparations for our 1st Annual ABATE District 9 End-of-Summer Rally, September 15th-17th. Asked for volunteers to help man the various stations, to include the poker run, bike games, clubhouse, and gate. Also discussed the Saturday evening meal, and band that will be playing Saturday night. We are pleased to announce that Deacon Black has been booked for the event.  
• Bubba Whittemore volunteered to talk to Daily Banner-News about publicity for the rally.
• Bill Norris suggested we make up a billboard (with the D9 logo) that could be placed in front of our clubhouse for the purpose of taking pictures of our guests while at our events.
• An appeal was made asking all smokers if they would please refrain from smoking during the monthly meetings in the clubhouse
• Signing on as new member at the meeting was Sid Nalls. Guests attending were Chris Bridges and Chuck Hanson, both from Magnolia, and Mark Smith, from Camden.
• 50/50 drawing won by Mary Danley.
• Meeting adjourned at 8:15pm
