THE PROCESS

I love to paint …although I work from your photographs my objective is not to create photographic paintings but to recreate an emotion or essence not available in photographs.

 I can take your black and white photos and transform them into vivid color.   If you have old photos of relatives they can be brought to life with color.

 When working from color photographs the truer the color the better results I can achieve. Since in most cases I’ve never seen the subjects the better the photo the better the likeness.  More than one picture of the subject is always a plus.  All photographs can be manipulated in the painting – extraneous information eliminated to create a new picture.   Several photos can be used to create one painting.  I paint what I see and if I have to improvise communication will be essential so there are no misunderstandings.  Photos taken by professionals may be copyrighted and cannot be used without permission.
