The Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc., is open to all stitchers at any level, from beginner to advanced. With about 20,000 members and over 350 chapters throughout the United States and Canada, EGA offers many opportunities for stitchers. The organization, founded in 1958, is non-profit, educational, charitable and non-discriminatory.
Annual membership includes a quarterly publication, Needle Arts. A week-long seminar is held each year featuring well known national and international teachers offering classes in every facet of embroidery. A visit to the national headquarters, housed in the historic Brown Hotel
in Louisville, Kentucky, provides the member with an opportunity to browse
through the Margaret Parshall Gallery with its exhibits of member-stitched
needlework and through the Dorothy Babcock Library with its extensive selection
of books for lending and reference.
