Pythagorio InfoPythagorio Photos
Pythagorio is a resort town about 1 km from the airport (the beach is on the flight path). During the tourist season, it is a bussing port, shipping tourists in and out and the main income is tourism. This drops off during the off-season. However, as a resort it is quite pleasant since it is not as built up as resorts on most other islands. The town is relatively small with tight streets so the tourist shops are forced onto the main, one-way street. The hotels are all small, more like pensions that are no more than three floors high.

The town, named after the mathematician Pythagoras; A famous greek mathematician who found a way to calculate the hypotenuse of a triangle. Modern Pythagorio is built close a set of Archaic ruins and the Eupalino Aqueduct.
