WANT TO MEET ME OR SEE MY ART IN PERSON?
~~HERE IS WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE NEAR FUTURE~~
- CURRENTLY
HAPPY SPRING 2012! It's almost Summer!!! My favorite time of year. It will be my birthday soon; camping out in the back yard with my grandsons; friends visiting from around the country; My youngest daughter, Odessa, is going to be married on August 18th, which is sure to "make the Summer"; and shortly after the wedding I am returning to the "Great Southwest"---the Great Northwest is absolutely beautiful, but way too rainy and cold for me, Sun Worshipper that I am, I am happy to be returning to the SUN. I have just completed a new update throughout the entire website, with lots and lots of new pieces. Sometime in the near future I hope to be opening a new Gallery, (dream of a lifetime}. So be sure to check out all the new things on the site and no matter what you do in summer, I hope it is a lovely and fun time of year for you all.
- March 2012
I am also looking for new shops or consignment shops to place my jewelry in. If you have a shop or boutique, and are interested in something new in your cases or something different in your store, please contact me. My jewelry and art does really well in a variety of stores. These might include western stores, museum gift stores, variety gift stores, flower shops, boutiques, motorcycles shops, or stores which cater to rendevous-indian powwow-rodeo supply stores, even hotel gift shops. I will also sell jewelry lots at up to 50% retail value, for those parties interested in buying smaller lots or very large lots. I am serious about liquidating a lot of jewelry. If you are a serious buyer, lets talk!
I am so excited as I have so many new items to post on the site! Wait until you see!!! It was an incredibly slow winter as far as sales go...they say the recession has ended, but my business doesn't seem to be reflecting that. Regardless, I am going to venture forth. I am totally doing an upgrade on the entire website. When I finish, I plan to post all the new items.
I'm also planning a move back to the Southwest, in the Fall.
- January 2008 thru present
I have started tumbling my own stones! I've been collecting Obsidian, Petrified Wood, and Turquoise from Miners and Dealers in the Southwest for 38 yrs., as well as collecting rock specimens from at least 22 states for 30 years. Now I am polishing them up and making nuggets, beads and heishi from them...oh boy! The jewelry is going to get interesting now! hahahaha...
July 2009 update: This venture is going well. I have polish tumbled some Fox Turquoise nuggets, which turned out beautifully! Just brightened up a bit, but, still absolutely Natural. On my vacation I picked up a lot of Jaspers and Flint in Oklahoma. So, in they went, and unbelievably, out they came, with some of the prettiest colors! Every color of the rainbow! So I will use these to practice learning to drill holes, and then I will begin drilling my turquoise!
I also learned to clean up some rough turquoise from the Royston Mine, NV. I have tumbled this, just a light polish, and the Petrified Wood from Oregon..wait until you see the new pieces I have made from these stones!
I have also learned to wire-wrap. So some of these new pieces incorporate Sterling Silver wire wrap..I have been having so much fun!
November 21, 2011 update: wow! hard to believe I have been tumbling stones and drilling the rocks and learning a lot! about rocks, for several years now. This summer I went on many trips with friends, from Oregon City, Clackamette River, up the Columbia Gorge, to Hood River, up to Hermiston and up to the Umatilla and Yakima Rivers in Washington---picking up rocks all the way, haha! I have tumbled Jaspers of every color; orange calcite, obsidian, agate, pertified wood, so much rock...so many incredibly beautiful stones. So the new jewelry I am making is all from my own efforts hunting, gathering, cleaning, tumbling and finally..new works of art, to be presented to the website in the spring, if enough things sell, so I have some room.
- November 2011
I am also doing many new projects this winter including some leather-deerhide-pigskin throws or small quilts; new baskets with many new grasses all gathered from the great northwest!!; some birch bark, deehide (and other materials) silver flasks; some various boxes and tins covered with deer hide, pigskin, rabbit fur, snakeskin and/or birch bark. Last but not least, some new quillwork items. So, I really need to clear some room for new items on the site, so hit the big sale everyone, and help me clear some space. Wait til you see all the new items coming up!!!
I don't know if there will be more hours in a day this year, because I could sure use them! I have several quilts going, I canned all the raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, rhubarb and tomatoes, oh! and the Halloween-pumpkin patch pumpkins...guess those pumpkin pies will be great on Thanksgiving! Then there is always playing Robin Hood with my 5 year old grandson, Liam...it all takes a lot out of a person, hmmm...am I tired yet?.....hardly! My youngest daughter got engaged to be married today! yea!!!,
