"My First Unicorn" (1988~1993) This is my first unicorn. I made its first version in an MSX computer in 1988. The current design was made a few months later, but it only became full coloured in 1991 with the upgrade of my machine to an MSX2. The current size and colour depth was reached in 1993 when I bought an AT 486 (although I would prefer a "real" computer, this one has been enough to my needs). The "aura" around the unicorn has changed from time to time, but not the graphism. This picture has been only electronically edited. "Aurora" (1997) This picture I dedicated to someone that spent a little of her time sending me E-Mails, which woke me up from a very dark period. Thanks to her, wherever she is... "Cassandra's Crystal" (1997) Cassandra, The Poetess, sent me a poem that made me draw this small image (the background image of this Page is also a result of an E-Mail she sent me). The poem can be found at her Page. As in most of my works, there is a unicorn in this image. Can you find it? Well, don't look much like a unicorn, but then, there are so few pixels available... "Resting under a tree" (1993) I made the first sketch of this picture when I was in Japan in 1993, but the theme had been chosen months earlier, when I watched to a BBC documentary about trees. I scanned the sketch into my MSX, then edited and coloured in the AT. "Walking" (1996~1997) This picture was completely electronically created and edited. It was inspired on a text in my Page. "River" (1996~1997) I sketched this picture when I was in Japan in 1993. After scanning, it became a large image. I resized it to fit better in my Page. "Curious Child" (1997) I made this picture to my mother. It started as a paper sketch, then scanned and edited electronically. "Wall" (1997) This picture took me some time to create. The idea of a wall appeared in a class about Ancient History, when the teacher presented some slids of the Babilon Garden, one of the Seven Wonders. It was electronically created and edited. "Light of Friendship" (1997) This is a gift to all my Internet friends, specially to a new one that has been so "bright" these days. I needed a lot of time to think about it, but just some minutes to sketch (first in paper then in a graphic editor), to edit and to finalize it. The inspiration to it came from an old E-Mail I had written long ago, telling a short story about a quest for a golden lilac. "Blue" (1998) One day I entered the classroom and looked at the blackboard. It was not very well cleaned and ghosty chalk marks formed a picture of curved towers, or so it seemed to me. That image of distorted buildings found an "escape valve" when I finished writing one more chapter of my Unicorn Page. "Psyknight Suits" (1998) These images were created to a friend's Page. He said me he wanted the card suits and what each was supposed to mean, then I let my imagination do the job. They are for Inspiration, Studies, Medievalism and Poetry, respectively.
"Wira Raisen - Ranger Helmet Demonstration" (1998) I made this animated picture to relax... Wira Raisen is a rhandish, a species from another galaxy, an anthropomorphic felinoid. She has golden fur, deep blue eyes, an athletic body, doesn't have tail and is sleepless (don't need to sleep). She is an officer of the Intergalactic Patrol, daughter of another officer, Jior Waisen, who died in action and whose memories were merged into the Felin-Set Planetary Computer. In this animation, Wira presents the ranger helmet, a standard police equipment. It contains an ASTRA visor (Adaptative Spectrum Telemetric Range Analyser, or in other words, a sensible wide-range sensor/radar, or yet a very expensive TV set), two EARS (Electro Active Reflex Scanners, that is, echolocation devices, also connected to the visor, but can be used by ear, literally, by well trained personel), retractile HARD mask (Hermetic Atmospheric Recycling Device) and, most important, a removable and completely useless head metallic adornment (all anime style "hi-techie" suits have some). The red colour means she is one of the sixteen elite officers with explicitly granted total freedom of action and access to any security level files. Explanation: Wira and everything else came from an adventure of mine I conducted years ago and will be present in a new cyber-adventure that will replace the Mystery Adventure, soon I hope. |
