Swell.Chemistry, a brain child of Wallace Begay II (otherwise known as "Mr.Book"), was founded in 1995 with Chris Foree. Mixing Industrial beats and sounds with melodic and powerful guitars, Swell Chemistry established their unique sound in early demos, such as "She Leans Against the Fall of Night" (1996) and "Unclasp the Tables To Their Thoughts" (1997).

After Chris Foree left to pursue other interests, Mr.Book succeeded in recording S.C.'s first full length critically acclaimed album in May 2003 entitled, "Against The Fall Of Night". This critically acclaimed album was given many positive reviews from local magazines in several states, and recieved moderate radio airplay in Arizona, California, Nevada, South Dakota, Washington, Oregon, New York, Michigan, Illinois, and Canada. The singles from the album include: "Together", "White Tiger", "The Duel", and "Citrus Smiles" (From the Your Orders, Please single). The conceptual masterpiece was filled with war stories, inspired by the Iraq War that had just begun at that time. "A Kind of Victory" was directly inspired by the loss of Lori Piestewa, and was dedicated to her memory.

Swell Chemistry has promoted and played many shows with notable local Arizona bands such as Ethnic Degeneration, Ikonoklast, Mankind Is Obsolete, The Cremains, and Beyond Analog. S.C. has always dedicated their musical expressions to soldiers fighting the war in Iraq. Swell Chemistry has raised money with the Serai Music Festival and Benefit for The American Indian Veterans Memorial Organization, for the completion of the first all native american national veterans monument for all native tribes, to be built in Phoenix, Arizona.
