December 7th 2000: "Ballet
Dancer" Cover Art
The cover art for "Ballet Dancer",
the first Lotus album, has been added to the site. Click

November 20th 2000: New
Album mooted
An eighth Lotus album is in the
pipeline, tentatively titled "Just Another Universe", after
the new track recently recorded. This album will more than
likely contain 14 of the recently recorded tracks. Listeners
can look forward to an album containing such songs as "Green
On Red", "Its Just Another Morning", and the epic title
track. If this album is completed this year, it will be the
second Lotus album to be written and recorded in
2000.
November 2nd 2000: Recording
Again
Robert has now begun recording again,
after his last few sessions were not very productive; the
time stretching from the end of September to now. This is
due in part to his new mixing desk and renewed enthusiasm
for the task at hand - record as much as possible. "I got a
bit burned out after the last run of songs," he says, "so I
needed a break. Now I can approach it fresh." Any new
recording is detailed on the 2000
recordings page.
September
28th 2000: New Site Design!
Today we lauch the
new Official Lotus Website, with a brand new design.
Featured are new lyrics pages,
complete with cover art, and more MP3s. The recordings page has
been spilt up by year to allow for easier browsing. As well
as this, all the features of the old site are given here in
a much more functional layout.
September 13th 2000: New
Cover and Title for Demo
"Beautiful
Day" is now the offical title for the Lotus demo 2000,
previously known as "Painted In The Sky". This title is
being kept as the name of the 7th Lotus album. The cover art
work has been replaced on the Demo 2000 page with a new
cover for "Beautiful Day". The "Painted In The Sky" cover
will reappear at some stage; hopefully in the near future a
page will be developed featuring all Lotus cover
artwork.
August 23rd 2000: "Looking Out A Window"
CD
Lotus are preparing a new
compilation CD of about 16 tracks, featuring some of the new
music Robert Crosbie has been recording over the last few
months. The CD is called "Looking Out A Window", and you can
have a sneak preview of the cover by clicking here!
August 14th 2000: New Section On Site For
Recordings
There is a new section on the site, dedicated
to the Lotus recordings. This gives
information on all the songs that have been recorded from
1994 onwards, with a small review of each track, date of
recording, instruments played, and production details. It is
a large and valuable section of the site, and will be
continually updated as new songs are being recorded. At the
moment, Robert has taken a break from recording for a short
while.
August 8th 2000: "Ballet Dancer" Now
Added
"Ballet Dancer", the album, has now been added
to the Albums page. This album represents some of the earliest
material Robert has written, dating back to 1993 - 1994. The
songs here are very energetic and quite effective in their
simplicity, and have an important place in the development
of Lotus music. Robert spent the weekend recording 6 of the
songs from this album, leaving just 2 more to complete the
album. Others have been recorded over the years, some with
Richard Skelton on drums.
August 1st 2000: "Lotus" Now
Complete
"Lotus", the first album, has now been
completed, with the recording of "We Don't Have To Be
Together" last night. The track listing has been juggled
slightly to allow for the inclusion of "Tomorrow When I'm
Lonely". This song appears instead of "When You're Feeling"
on 'side 1'.
July 21st 2000: "Painted In The Sky" Complete,
Site News
"Painted In The Sky", the
new album featuring 12 songs, is now completed and is fully
recorded. This marks the first time a Lotus album has been
recorded in its entirety ("Lotus" is 2 songs short of being

June 17th 2000: Lots of New
Updates
There's been a lot happening on the
Lotus front in recent times. The second Lotus CD has been
completed, featuring six songs recorded by Robert in the
last few months. As well as this lots
of new songs have been written and recorded, check the albums page for details. Also
there is the rumour that Robert is considering putting
together a new Lotus line-up! Whether this is for recording
or gigs is unclear, but it is thought the plans are very
loose at the moment.

January 24th 2000:
Recording Goes Into Overdrive!
Robert Crosbie has been
very busy over Christmas recording demos of his latest
songs. Over 15 new songs have been recorded. These songs are
listed on the recordings
page. The songs are quite varied in style, from rock
songs like "Lions", to gentle ballads such as "Cool Breeze
Tonight". Robert intends to cut another Lotus CD using some
of these tracks.
