Final Fantasy VII Walkthrough - Disk 2

Welcome to my FFVII walkthrough. I suggest you only use this as a refrence guide to make sure your on the right track. If you follow this guide to a "T", the game will not be as fun as it by all rights should be. Also I will try not to give away any plot twists, but I make no promisses. At points in this walkthrough, you will find incorrect information(not many i hope ^_^). Feel free to Email me with the error and i will fix it. At times i will request certain information, such as the name of a boss, the HP of a boss, etc., and you may feel free to email me the information if you want to. Do not tell me that i don't have something on this page without telling me how to fix it, because I most likely already know it's there. Enough of this stuff; on to the Walkthrough!

Disk 2

Follow Sephiroth.... Yet Again

  • Yet the third time you will have to follow sephiroth. You would find it to your advantage to rest before you follow him. Once you decide to set off, head in the direction Cloud saw him go in his vision. You will be at a cliff face, where you can clim up, down, go left, right, and get different items. Here is the list: Hypno Crown, Megalixer, Bolt Armlet(very good), Magic+ Materia.
  • If you happen to run into an Acrophies(Big, 1/2 Crab(red), 1/2 Snake(blue) Thing), you can steal a water ring from him if you missed the last one, or want some more.
  • Once you've gotten the items you want, head up the ladder and to the right, where you will exit onto the world map. Follow the mountain range on your right as you face away from the mouth of the cave, and you will eventually come to a town. Forgot the name of it. Anyway, once you there, you can buy weapons from the shop on the far left of the screen. Go to the house on the far right of the screen, and get the map off the wall.
  • Now you can feel free to explore the town. If you want background information on Aeris's parents, enter the house that looks like it's circular. Inside, there will be a computer with some security camera footage on it. It has some pretty interesting information on it.
  • Once you've done all you want to, talk to the guy way back away from the screen, by the forest. If you can't see him, just run straight up and you'll hit him eventually. Talk to him, and he'll say something about a snowboard. Then, a familiar face will show up. After your done with him/her, enter the house near the middle of the screen with the kid that hurt his leg on his snowboard. He'll then give it to you.
  • Go back to where that guy at the top of the screen is, and tell him that your still going. You'll then enter into, in my opinion, the funnest mini-game in the game. The snowboarding game! ^_^
  • I don't think you'll have too much trouble with it. If you do, just remember to hold R1 the whole time. It'll save your life on turns. I'm not quite sure what the ballons do. (If any of you readers happen to know, Email me)

The Glacier

  • Once your done, you'll start the next area in a different place depending on which path you choose. Once you land, press the Square button to bring up the map. In each area where the map is present, there is a distinguishable landmark. Whether it be a lone tree, a log bridge, a forest, etc.
  • Once you've found your location, head for the upper-right area of the map. It has one path leading up, two leading left, and one leading down. Enter the lower of the two paths leading left(i think. i'll double check soon), and you will get to a hot-spring. Touch the hot spring(the one on your left), and then head back to that intersection where the 4 paths meet. This time take the path leading up. You will eventually see a cave on your right. Talk to her, and she will give you the Alexander Materia. If you don't touch the hot-spring, or you pass out after touching the hot spring and don't touch it again, you will have to fight her. She has around 2000 HP I believe. Not too hard if you have a limit ready or close to being ready.
  • To get to the next area you need to get to, you can either wander around the are until you pass out, at which point you'll be transported to the place, or you can head to the checkmark and find it yourself. So if you can't find it, it's no biggy, you'll get there eventually. If you want to find it yourself, then get to the checkmark, and you'll be on a flat snowy plane. I'm not too sure where you need to go, but there is a cave in the middle of the area. Once you find it, try going in the opposite direction the enterence to the cave is. I think that's the general area you need to head to. Be sure to stop walking when the screen is changing positions(you'll know what I mean when you see it).
  • Once you found the cabin, the man will tell you how to get up the mountain. Exit the cabin, and everyone will be there waiting for you. Head up to scale the cliff, down to go back to the maze thing, in case you forgot something.
  • Assuming you went up, you'll be on a small platform. Press the square button to warm yourself up. Your pretty close to max now, so you'll be fine if you don't. But if you anal about this kind of thing, like me, you'll want to warm up first ^_^. Anyway, climb up the cliff, stopping at each ridge to warm up before preceeding.
  • You now have a chance to get another enemy skill. Bad Breath. Run around on one of the ledges, and you'll run into a Marlboro. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RIBBON EQUIPPED ON THE PERSON W/ WHITE WIND ON THIER ENEMY SKILL MATERIA. It is imperative to winning this battle. Bad Breath causes MANY status effects, and you will most likely NOT win the battle w/out protection. It might take a while for Bad Breath to be cast, so make sure you have enough MP and healing magics available. Or you might be lucky and it'll be the first move used on you. Whatever the case, once it's cast on you, have the person w/ a ribbon on use white wind, that you equipped him with before the battle, which will restore your other characters. Didn't know that white wind got rid of status abnormalities? Well, you do now. Once you've done this, feel free to kill the Marlboro. Do not run, as you will lose Bad Breath once you do that.
  • Once you reach the top, you'll be in a cave. You'll also have another chance to learn an enemy skill. This time, it's Magic Breath. If you run into a mini, red materia keeper(Boss at the end of Mt. Nibel) named Stilva, then wait for it to use Magic Breath on you, or manipulate it and have it use it on you.
  • Once you enter the cave, go through the doorway, and as soon as you can, head left, then down through the door. Continue up the path, and you'll eventually get to a boulder. Push it over the edge, and it will clear the path for you. So backtrack, and take the path you did not take previously.
  • Exit the cave, and you'll be at another clif you have to climb. You've done this before. You know how it works.
  • I gained Ungarmax, Barret's 2nd Lvl. 3 limit break.
  • Once you reach the top of this cliff, you'll be in another cave. There is a save point on your left, a doorway surrounded by a pool of water straight in front, and another doorway to your right. Go through the right doorway and follow that path above the area you just were. You'll be on a ledge with four Stalactites(sp?). As you run into them, you'll fight them. They are guarded by 3-4 bats. One beta will kill all of them, so it shouldn't be hard. Be careful that you don't select the option to jump down, even after to beat all four of the stalactites.
  • Upon beating all four stalactites, get the chests on either side of the platform. Note that 'Last Elixer' is the same thing as Megalixer. It's just a translation error.
  • Once you've done all that, drop down, and get the chest on the far left, now accessible w/ the help of the fourth stalactite. Once done, head through the middle path.
  • At this point i gained Howling Moon. Red XIII's 1st lvl. 3 limit break.
  • Continue along the path made and you will come to a save point. You can restore your HP/MP at the pool to the right of the save point. You should, because your about to fight...

Schizo

Level: 43
HP: 18000
MP: 350
Absorbs:
     Left: Ice
     Right: Fire
Strategy: First off, all of their attacks are Fire and Ice attacks, so prepair accordingly. Be sure to steal a protect ring from the right head. Since one side absorbs fire and the other absorbs ice, I suggest you have your two people with enemy skill materia's use Beta or Aqualung non-stop, with the third person using some other magic(I suggest comet). One head should be constantly getting damaged, the other should constantly be getting healed. Since you havn't damaged the head that's getting healed, there's no harm done(or aid in this case). Once one head dies, you can have free reign on the other head. If you want to make this fight extremely easy, just use magic hammer on them until they don't have any MP left.
My Levels: 43, 42, 42
EXP: 4400
AP: 240
Gil: 3000
Item: Dragon Fang(Battle Item)
  • Once you have beaten him, continue along the path and you'll come the top of the crater. At this point, or close to it, Tifa will be forced to join your party. Don't worry, a fairly good weapon for her is comming up soon, and none of the enemies more bosses are very hard when she's in your party.
  • Continue along the path, and you'll see a red materia on the side of the path. Get it, because it's the Neo Bahumut materia. You'll need it to get Bahumut Zero later.
  • Along the path, there will be three places where the wind is too fierce to let you pass, and you need to wait 'til it dies down. Be patient. Wait until there is so little wind you can barely see anything. For the second and third ones, there will always be a green wave going through, so don't watch that.
  • A lot of story stuff will be thrown at you, and after your thoroughly confused(and trust me, if you've never heard the story line the whole way through before, you WILL be confused), another incarnation of Jenova will be thrown at you.

Jevova DEATH

Level: 55
HP: 25000
MP: 800
Weakness: None
Strategy: All of this boss's attacks are fire attacks, so prepair accordingly. It's not really that hard of a fight. Again, if you want an easy fight, use magic hammer on him 8 times, and he won't be able to attack you.
My Levels: 44, 36, 43
EXP: 6000
AP: 400
Gil: 5000
Item: Reflect Ring(Accessory)
  • After the fight, you'll be asked to give your new acquirement(can't say what, it'd be a spoiler) to either Red XIII or Barret. Go ahead and pick one of them, and continue up the path. A long and even more confusing scene will follow. A bunch of stuff happens, so i'll pick up after it's all over.

Captured

  • It's going to be hard to write a walkthrough for this part w/out giving away something. I'll try my best, but no promises. That's why most of this will be extremely brief and lacking any detail whatsoever.
  • You'll wake up, talk, and be lead away. At the end of your little journey, one of your characters will be taken to a special place. At which point a scene will follow. When you can control your character again, go up to the door and press the action button several times.
  • To get to the airport, head right. Walk down, and talk to the 'reporter' who is actually someone you know. Keep going down. You can fidn your way from here.
  • To get through this next part, press the keys in the following order: X, X, X+tri, Tri+O, Tri+O. You can replace the circle with the square if you want, i believe. I'm not positive though. Once you've done that, press the light to the left of your current position. Then try to open the door.
  • An event will follow, and afterwards, you'll have to run. Just keep running down, and once you get to the bottom, run to the end of the gun. You'll be met by your persuers, when you will have a slap fight. It doesn't really matter if you win or lose. Once it's over, you'll escape.

The Search

  • Okey, it's going to be quite hard to get through this without giving away some BIG stuff. If you either don't mind, or already know what happens, continue reading. If not, then be absolutely sure you cannot figure it out for yourself.
  • As Red XIII suggests, go to Cosmo Canyon and talk to Bugenhagen. He will have some advice as to where to continue your search. He mentions the island chain in the southeast of the map. It's the biggest island.
  • While your here, you might want to consider buying HP plus materia for each of your characters. It's not too important now, but by the time it gets important, the materia will be at least at level 3.
  • Once your ready to leave, head to the airship and go to the biggest island in the South-East island chain. Make sure you have Curiel greens in your inventory before you go there. I'll explain why later.
  • Once you've bought the greens and made it to the island, enter the town and head to one of the shops. You will see a white chocobo running around. Talk to it and give it the green, and you will be presented with a list of choices as to where to scratch it. Choose to scratch it behind it's ears, and it'll give you the Contain materia. It has 4 very powerful magics, each of a different element. This materia is one of the few places where you can get a Wind elemental attack.
  • Once you've got the contain materia, Head toward the north end of the town, toward the dog, you will happen to hear two guys talking about a person your looking for. They'll tell you he's in the hospital.
  • You'll be taken to the hospital, where you'll find the person your looking for. Unfortunately, they can't be taken anywhere, for obvious reasons. Tifa say's she'll stay behind, while everyone else goes off and does their thing, until the person can be moved.
  • Back on the airship, you'll be told about a plot by shinra to destroy meteor. We can't have that now, so you'll have to get the fuel behind shinra's bomb. In actuality, you can't let them use the Huge Materia because if they were destroyed, regular materia could not be used very well. So go to the operations room, form your party(Cid will be a mandatory character), and make for Corel.

First Huge Materia

  • Once at Corel retrace your previous steps, and head back to the reactor. Talk to the guards outside, and take them out. The train will leave you behind, at which point you'll take on the chase. You'll have to alternate pressing the Up arrow and the Triangle(press up, then tri, then up, etc.) button to speed up. Do this as fast as you can, in the most effecient way you can, for this next part is on a timer, and you REALLY do not want to miss the time.
  • Once you catch up to the train, you'll have to progress your way through five battles. Go all out. Use Bolt3(which you should definately have by now), Trine(which, if you followed this walkthrough, you should have on two materias), Comet(either level is fine, but you most likely will not have Comet2 yet), and any other powerful magics you have. Since it's only five battles, and none of them are boss HP, you should be fine if you go all out. If not, then use some ether's, turbo ethers, or the enemy skill Magic Hammer to replentish your MP.
  • Once you kill everyone and have control of the train, you'll have to stop it. I honestly can't figure out what i'm doing to stop the train, but it always seems to work. I have a hunch that it's either the ammount of time you have left, or what you do with your one shot at pushing buttons. What you need to do is press Triangle and Up at the same time, then X and Down at the same time. Once you do that, the train should go faster, but you can't do anything about it. If you do it right, the train will stop at the last minute.
  • Once your off the train, a little kid will give you Ultima materia. Equip it immediatly. At level 50, that sucker can do 6000 damage to an opponent. The only down side is the fact that you need to get it to level 2(10000AP i believe). Well, that and it's normal advantages/disadvanages that come standard on all magic materia. If you fail to save the town, you will have to pay for the materia. I believe it's 10000 Gil, but i'm not sure.
  • Also, if you save the town, you can rest for free. Not much, i know, but hey, it's better than a kick in the pants. Also, if you talk to the lady in the house on the far left of the second level of the town, she'll give you Catastrophy, Barrets Level 4 limit break manual. If you don't save the town, you'll have to pay for this also. I don't remember how much it is.
  • Once you are done in this town, you'll be ready for....

Second Huge Materia

  • Get to your airship and head for Fort Condor. Make sure you have an adequate ammount of money. This scenario cost me 8000 gil. Start the fort condor mini game the way you usually do, talking to the guy at the northern most part of the fort.
  • The game will start. I recommend you not put down ANY units at first. Start the game, then wait until the enemy appears on the screen, so you will only bring out the units you need, and not waste any money. The limit to where you can bring in troops lowers as the battle progresses, so that is an added plus. If your unsure what units are good against what units, ask the guy that starts the battle before hand so you can get the most punch for your money. The cheep way out is to let the enemies reach the top, then fight the commander w/ your party. Either method works.
  • Once you've won, go upstairs and get the red materia, which is Pheonix Materia. Then go back downstairs and talk to the guy who recruited you in the first place. He'll give you the 2nd Huge Materia.

He's Back!

  • As one of your party members will suggest, go back to Mideel and check up on Tifa. Once there, you'll be attacked by an unwanted visitor.

Ulitma Weapon

Level: ??
HP: ????
MP: ???
Strategy: First off, this guy doesn't give you any EXP or AP, so it's useless to try to keep all your ppl alive to the end. Just be sure your remaining characters have enough punch to finish this guy off. Or make him run, rather. Use Level 3 magic, limits, summons, and Beta if you don't have anything better. Be sure to keep everyone's HP up w/ white wind or Restore Materia and you should be fine. This guy has a few all attacks, so it'd be wise to have restore linked with all.
EXP: 0
AP: 0
GIL: 0
  • How to do this next part. There are few things i can say that wouldn't give at least something away. So i'll just say that it's a very linear(story line driven) part of the game, and you will have a very easy time navigating through it. The main purpose of this part is character development and background information. You will have three choices of paths. Choose them, in this order, Up, Left, Right, Up. This part will take from 20-30 minutes.

3rd Huge Materia

  • So you finially got him back. Did you miss him? Well, even if you didn't, he's back now, and for good. He starts off by telling you a story. It's basically a summery of what you learned in the previous scene. Anyway, once he's done talking, you can head out for the 3rd huge materia.
  • It's in Junon, so head for it, and enter the town. and head for the middle area of the main two screens. There should be soldiers training there, in a narrow tunnle of asfault(sp?). Head to the end of the passageway, and go down the elevator.
  • You'll get in a few battles w/ Shinra soldiers here and there. Nothing you can't handle. The path you need to take is pretty straight forward, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding your way.
  • When you get to the area where your in a glass tunnle on the ocean floor, DO NOT PROCEED. Equp someone with the Morph materia, and someone else with either Gravity materia, or an Enemy Skill materia with Laser learned. Wander around this area until you get into a fight with a ghost ship. Have the 2nd person use Demi or Laser on him until his health is low. Then have your morpher person morph him, and he'll change into a guidebook. If you don't get it now, you'll either have to come back here later or be sorry.
  • Continue along the path, and you'll come to a circular room. Press the Red button, and some water will flow through the pipes. Actually, your decending. Once the animation is done, exit through the door you came in through to find a new area. Proceed along the path, and you'll meet your next boss.

Carry Armor/Right and Left Arm

Levels: 45/45
HP: 24,000/10,000
MP: 200/100
Weakness: Lightening
Strategy: A lot of people consider this guy to be the hardest linear boss in the game. Hopefully this strategy section of my walkthrough will eliminate that possibility for you. Anyway, as soon as you start the fight, have someone use Big Guard. Then, have your two enemy skill people use Trine on him, while the third uses his best magic. Either Bolt3 or Comet most likey. Make sure you set up the materia before the battle. Anyway, if your having a character use an attack that attacks one enemy only, make sure to kill the arms first. They can grab your people, plus do a fair ammount of damage to you. Once you kill the arms, the body should be fairly easy. Same strategy as the arms. Be sure to use your limits in this battle. This is usually the first time I use Barret's level 4 limit break, so you can probably expect to see it if he's in your party. Obviously, you'll want somone to have a Restore materia with cure 3 equipped, preferably with all linked to it.
EXP: 5700
AP: 425
Gil: 4000
Item: Gods Hand(Tifa Weapon)
  • Once you beat Heavy Armor, head over to the sub in the distance. When you get up to it, do NOT go up the ramp. Instead, get the chest below the ramp, getting a Scimitar(Cid's weapon), and proceeding left further to get the Leviathan Scales(Key Item). Once you've gotten those two items, head up the ramp.
  • You'll have to fight a few groups of Shinra soldiers, but it's very easy. Once you get in the sub itself, you can save after you fight one more group. You now have access to the bridge of the sub. Unfortunately, it's being guarded. It's okey, though, because you can choose to take them prisoner w/out fighting them. They're the same people you were in the parade with in Disk 1, in Junon. Whatever you choose, you'll next have to play the submarine minigame.
  • Fairly easy. Triangle speeds up, X slows down, Square fires missles. Get up close behind a sub, wait for the box around the sub to turn red(that means the missles are locked), and fire as many as you can(up to four at a time). All you need to do is destroy the red sub, but you can destroy the others if you want to. If you lose sight of the red sub, press R2 to get an overhead map, that will show you where the red sub is. Shoot it down to win.
  • Once you've won, you get a message that you need to get to the Airport at Junon asap. What are you waiting for? Go on now. (If you want to, you can get the Huge Materia you just sunk. Just re-enter the sub and find the red submarine. Head North.)

4th, and Last, Huge Mageria

  • Once your back at Junon, head to the airport. You know where it is. If you don't, it's pretty sad. Anyway, you'll arrive just in time to see it leaving for Rocket Town. So, follow it there.
  • When you get there, everyone is looking at the rocket. Wonder what that could mean.... Anyway, go to the rocket and you'll fight about 3 groups of Shinra Soldiers before Cid joins your party. Good thing you got that Scimitar from the Sub Base, right?
  • So once you get Cid equipped, continue up the rocket to meat your next boss.

Reno w/ 2 Soldiers

Level: 42
HP: 9000
MP: 240
Weakness: None
Strategy: Easy fight. Start out with Beta to kill the 2 shinra soldiers. That's why I didn't include stats for them. They most likely won't even get a chance to attack. Once they're dead, just hit Reno with Ultima if you have it, comet, level 3 magics, summons, and limits if you have them. Just keep your HP up, and you should have no problem.
My Levels: 47, 47, ??(Didn't copy Cids level for some reason)
EXP: 4000
AP: 100
Gil: 3800
  • Once he's beaten, head to the control room of the rocket. The autopiolet will kick in, and you'll be in space. You'll talk a while, then decide to take the huge materia and leave. So head up the ladder on the right side of the room, and when you get a chance to enter a code in the pannle, enter: Circle, Square, X, X. If you enter something different, a 5 minute timer will start, during which cid will be giving you what hints he can remember. Get the materia and leave. The rest of the spaceship scenario is quite easy to get through, so i'll just pick up when you get control again.

Gelnika Plane

  • First off, this would be a good time to get the Huge Materia in the red sumbarine if you havn't done so already. Once you've done everything you feel you need to do, I have a few suggestions as to sub-quests you might consider at this point. The first, though, not major, is to get the 'Key of the Ancients.' To get it, go north in your submarine, and it will be in one of the branches. I belive it is on the right hand branch.
  • I'll take this opportunity to suggest you take a trip to the Sunken Gelnika plane. It gives you a lot of EXP, AP, and it's very easy to get your 2nd limit breaks for each level, as your limit guage will rise quite quickly. To find it, simply take the fork that you did NOT take when finding the 'Key to the Ancients.' There will be a plane on the ground. Run into it, and you'll enter the sunken Gelnika Plane.
  • There are several very good items in here. Before getting them, however, I recommend that you go through the door behind the save point to fight...

Reno & Rude

Levels: 42 & 49
HP: 1500 & 2000
MP: 230 & 280
Weakness: None & None
Strategy: You've fought these guys enough times to know how to beat them. Just make sure to steal a Ziedrich and Touph Ring from them before you beat them.
My Levels: 48 all
EXP: 10500
AP: 660
Gil: 9000
  • Once you've beaten them, go back to the save point. Instead of going through the door behind the save point, go through the door above the save point. In this room, you will find, among other things, 2x Slash Materia. When equipped, it makes you hit twice(hence the name). At the second level, you hit 4 times. And when your doing 9999 damage a hit, that's pretty dog-gon good.
  • If you go back to the hallway where you fought Reno and Rude. Go through the door at the end of the hallway, and you'll come to a huge room. In this room, you can find the following:
    • Cid's Level 4 Limit break manual: In the chest at the end of the ledge above the main room.
    • Hades Materia: It's the red orb beside the crashed helicopter.
You will also find a number of other useful items. Search around, see what you get.
  • The monsters in here can be pretty tough. I recommend going all out on them. The person with 2x slash can just use their normal attack, because it will most likely do more damage than magic. The other two can just use level3 magic, using Magic Hammer if they get low.
  • While leveling up in this area(a good place to level up, by the way), I gained Earth Rave(Red XIII's 2nd level 3 limit break) and Meteo Rain along with Finishing Touch(Cloud's Level 3 limit breaks).

City of the Ancients Revisited

  • Wondering what to do with the huge materia? Not to worry. Head to Cosmo Canyon and talk to Red XIII's grandfather. He'll take the huge materia up to his observatory, and show you how to operate it so that you can get to them any time. Before you leave, though, talk to the blue huge materia. When given the choice, choose to get closer. The results of this will be the Bahumut ZERO materia. The second most powerful summon in the game.
  • Once you've gotten the Key to the Ancients, head to the City of the Ancients(behind Bone Village in case you don't remember). Once you reach the three-pronged fork in the road, take the left fork, and go inside the cave. Follow Bugenhagen, and a scene will follow. After which, your mind will start to make some sense of this story if this is your first time through. Once your done here, you will find that Midger is being attacked, and that you need to save it.

Diamond Weapon

Level: ??
HP: About 30,000
MP: ????
Weakness: None
Strategy: First off, sense didn't work on him, so I had to get his HP by adding the damage all my attacks did. It came out to 29,900, but that was with rounding, so I figured 30,000 was a good place for Square to put his HP. Anyway, on to the strategy. This is your typical "really powerful boss fight." Make sure that at least two ppl in your party has Restore linked with All, because your most likely going to need it. He has a move called "Countdown." If your anything but a novice at rpg's, you know this means "Kick @$$ Attack Comming Soon!!" And what an attack it is! Just pray you beat him before he gets a chance to use it on you. I recommend having one person have Comet, another with Ultima(it should be useable by now. If not, give him a level 3 magic), and the third equipped with Contain materia(if you don't have it, either get it before this point or give him another level 3 magic). Just hammer him with these unless you need healing. At which point either have a person use White Wind, if their hp is high enough, or Restore(w/out all if you don't need it). If you get countdown used on you, then just use Cure3+All. If you need more healing after that, have a person use white wind.

  • Just a side note, but you can fight the ultima weapon now. How you ask? Simple.
    • First, find him in the crater next to Junon. It's the one that was made by the unknown weapons attack on Junon before you got Cloud back.
    • During the fight, treat it pretty much exactly like you did the Diamond weapon. It's important that you really smack the heck out of it. The more HP it loses in this fight, the less ammount of times it will fly around the world map.
    • Once you've beaten it, it'll run away. FOLLOW IT. Ram into it numberous times, and it'll land. It lands faster the more times you ram it. Once it lands, repeat the process of smacking the heck out of it.
    • Eventually, it'll go to cosomo canyon. You'll know when it's there because right after a fight ends, it will not be anywhere in sight. That means it went to cosmo canyon. Follow it there, and fight it; this is the last time. Here's a warning, though. When it dies, it'll use Shadow Flare on whoever delivered the finishing blow. It does around 8000-9000 points of damage, so your pretty much left with a dead person. However, you can get around this.
    • Before the battle, give the person you want to recieve the Shadow Flare an enemy skill materia, so he can learn it. Then, give him as many HP plus materia's as it takes to get his HP over 9000. I had three HP plus's at level 3, so that's all I needed, but you may need more. Then, in the battle, have ONLY that character attack. That way you ensure him getting in the last hit, therefore recieving Shadow Flare. With a little bit of luck, you may just live through it. A more complete walkthrough for beating the Ultima Weapon will be included in the Disk 3 walkthrough.

Midger Revisited

  • You'll eventually be told your going to parachute down into Midger. So, board the highwind and fly over midger, and you will see a FMV. Once you can control Clould again, just follow Cait Sith. Once he stops, talk to him and you'll select your party and go down into the... uh... whatever that area your about to go into is called.
  • You'll be presented with two choices. An upper path and a lower one. The upper one yields an Elixer and a Megalixer. If you want them, get them, then take the lower path.
  • At the next junction, you will be presented with a right or a left path. The left one will yield a weapon for Cait Sith. If you want it, get it, then take the right path.
  • At the final junction, you can either take the stairs, or the vent. If you take the vent, you'll get a weapon for Barret. If you take the stairs, you'll find a ladder that will take you to the subway tunnels, and then to your next boss, if you head up.

Elena, Reno, & Rude

Levels: ??, 50, 51
HP: ?????, 25000, & 28000
MP: ???, 200, & 250
Absorbes: Lightning, Ice, Fire
Strategy: Fairly easy fight. If you have a female in your party, be sure to steal from elena, as she carries a good piece of armor for females only. Reno and Rude still have their customary items; a Touph Ring and a Ziedrich, respectively. For the fight, attack elena until she drops back a row. She attacks until a certain ammount of HP is take away, then drops back a row and doesn't fight. Then, after a while, she'll come back up and attack again. Anyway, the fight is pretty much like any other Turks fight, w/ the exception of Elena being there. Just keep a healer handy and you'll make it through fine, assuming that you don't make a big mistake.
My levels: 54 for all
EXP: 4500
AP: 450
Gil: 3000
Item: Elixer
  • If you want the W-Item materia, which I HIGHLY recommend, head down at this point. You will pass 7 sets of 2 screens, which, for you math wizards out there, equals 14 screens total. It's quite a ways, but it is WELL worth it. With the w-item materia, you can have infinite items. The w-item materia lets you use two items in one turn. Here is what you do:
    • Go into the w-item menu and select an item to use.
    • Use the item. Doesn't matter what the item is or who you use it on.
    • Select another item, but DON'T use it on anyone. You should have the cursor for selecting who to use the item on on the screen.
    • Now press the cancel button. The item you were just about to use will have one more quantity than it did before(factoring in the item you were just about to use). Keep doing this, and you can get infinite items. Just keep in mind that once you get to 99, it goes back to 1, so be careful.

  • Okay, so go back to where the ladder was to get back to start. Continue going up, choosing the right path whenever there is an option. When you get to the end, go back one set of screens, and then choose the left path, if you want to visit the Shinra Building again. The enemies are still the same and everything, though now you can get the two chests in the item shop, which, by the way, are: Pile Bunker(Barret Weapon), and Master Fist(Tifa Weapon).
  • Once your done in the Shinra Buildings, go back one more set of screens, and take the left path to get outside. Climb up the ladder thingee, and you'll meet your next boss.

Proud Clod & Jammer Armor

Level: ?? & 62
HP: ????? & 20000
MP: ??? & 300
Weakness: None
Strategy: Kill the lower part, the Jammer Armor first, as it can disable all your materia. Use Ultima, comet, contain, and other powerful magics on Jammer Armor. Do not use Limits or Summons; you should save those for the main unit. It will be a fairly long fight, so buckle up. If you see the Proud Clod get on it's knees, the that means it is about to fire an attack at you that damages everyone for approximately 1100 points of damage. Just have someone use Cure3 or White Wind to get everyone back to full health.
My Levels: 55 for all
EXP: 15,000
AP: 2500
Gil: 2000
Item: Ragnarok(Cloud Weapon)
  • Once you're done with him, continue along the path, going the opposite way you went when escaping the first reactor you blew up. Along the path, there will be stairs to your left. Go up them, following Cait Sith. Continue along the path, getting the items along the way(Mystle, Elixer, and Missing Score[Barret's ultimate weapon. If Barret is not in your party, you can NOT get this weapon]). Once you get to the end, you'll find Hojo, get new information that will ease the throbbing in your head resulting from mass confusion, and meet your next boss.

Hojo/Hellectic Hojo/Lifeborn

Levels: 50/55/??
HP: 13,000/26,000/??????
MP: 250/200/???
Weakness: None
Strategy: Ignore the capsuls he will throw out during the fight and concentraite on him. As you can probably guess, once you take down his 13000HP in his first form, he will turn into Hellectic Hojo. And again until he's turned into Lifeborn. He isn't very hard until the third form, so use physical attacks until he's moved on to Lifeborn. Once he's turned into Lifeborn, use magic, summons, and limits on him, as you would every other boss. He's really not very hard, so you should have little problem with him. Just be sure to keep everyone healed.
