Dwarfs are short, solid humanoids, usually less than a metre tall. Both sexes grow beards. The only way of telling a dwarf's sex is to ask it. Their prefered weapon is the battle axe, though some choose to carry a club. They sometimes also use a hard substance know as "dwarfbread" as a projectile weapon. It is also edible. As well as dwarfbread, dwarfs like to eat rat. Many young dwarfs leave their mines in the Ramtop Mountains to find work in the cities of the Sto plains: Ankh-Morpork, Quirm, Sto Lat and Psuedopolis. They don't get along very well with trolls, since dwarfs are usually miners, and trolls are made of rock.
