Hoisting Sails

* Ease the Boom Vang. * Make sure the Reefing Lines are Eased and remain uncleated. * Ease the Outhaul. * Uncleat and Ease the Boom-Lift. * Leave plenty of Slack in the Mainsheet. * Make sure everyone is clear of the Boom. * Place One Crew Member At The Mast. * Place another Crew Member at the Main Halyard Winch. * Have the Mast Crew Prefeed the Mainsail Luff Chord into the Mast Slot. * Uncleat the Mainsail Halyard. * Secure the Mainsail Halyard Shackle to the Head of the Mainsail. * Have the Winch Crew take up the Slack on the Mainsail Halyard.
Upon the command, "Hoist The Mainsail." * The Mast Crew will Jump-The-Mast. (i.e., Haul the Mainsail Halyard down along the Mast). * The Winch Crew Takes Up the Slack each time the Halyard is Hauled down. * After the Mainsail is Hoisted, Cleat the Halyard. * Disengage and Secure the Winch Handle. * Tension the Mainsheet, Vang, Outhaul, Stays, and prepare to Trim.

* Unfurl the Jib on foredeck. * Connect the Tack to the Ram Horn depending on the Heading. * Uncleat the Jib Halyard and lead it forward to the Pulpit. * Connect the Halyard Shackle to the Jib Head Grommet. * Insert the Jib Luff Chord (Boltrope) through the Prefeeder. * Uphaul the Jib several feet into the center Headfoil Track. * Tension the Slack and Cleat the Halyard. * Have the Halyard Fall ready (two raps) on the Winch to Hoist. * Load Winch Handle into the Winch. * Bend the Jib Sheets to the Clew. * Position the Port and Starboard Cars to accommodate the Sheets. * Prepare to Hoist.
Upon the command, "Hoist The Jib." * Steer the boat Head-To-wind until the Mainsail luffs. * Uncleat the Jib Halyard. * Hoist the Jib. * Tension the Halyard and Cleat. * Remove and store the Winch Handle. * Fall off and Trim the Sails.
