Thank you for your inquiry. Battelle Development Corporation is a nonprofit organization whose function is to provide a mechanism by which inventions can be commercialized through licensing or other disposition. We do not manufacture or sell a product. Our only business is to develop, license, and/or sell intellectual property.
Our evaluations and any subsequent development of ideas that pass our evaluation cost the inventor nothing. If we decide to accept and develop a specific invention, we require that all right, title, and interest to it be assigned to us. In return we give the inventor a percentage of any net income that we might receive from licensing or otherwise disposing of the invention.
To assure that ideas submitted to us receive full evaluation and to eliminate the type of idea which we do not choose to handle, we are enclosing information which will help you decide whether or not you should submit your invention for evaluation. Please note that a nonconfidentiality agreement ("Acceptance of Terms" form) is necessary in all cases - otherwise we will not proceed with the evaluation. Additionally, we will not review more than three invention submissions concurrently.
