GRINDAL WORMS
WHAT THEY ARE: Grindal worms are a small worm but big enough for some small adult fish to enjoy. My discus love them. They are not as fatty as the white worm and can be fed more often. These worms are also good for older fry.
HOW TO RAISE: I use a plastic container with 2 inches of a 50-50 mix of peat and potting soil (fertilizer free). Mix this all until it is very moist but not soaking wet. Add your starter culture to the mix. After a few hours feed them with some crushed flake food sprinkled with water. You will see them come to the top to eat. I would recommend keeping them in a low light room temp area. Try to feed the cultures every day but missing a few days will not be a problem.
HOW TO FEED: I use a small piece of plastic that has been place on top of the food. after they have consumed the food there should be several worms stuck to the plastic. pull this out and rinse it in your aquarium. Experiment as you might find a better way to culture.
