MICRO WORMS
WHAT THEY ARE: Micro worms are a very small worm even smaller than baby brine shrimp. These worms are a great food source for newly free swimming fry, of all types of tropical fish. Because theses worms will live several hours it gives all the fry a good chance at getting a full meal as well as not fouling the fry tank water. I recommend using a bare bottom tank when using these worms as they can go to the bottom where small fish might not see them.
HOW TO RAISE: You will need a small plastic or glass jar with a lid with 2 holes (small), some baby food (I use Heinz Mixed Cereal) I will make a paste of about 2 inches in a jar mixing it with hot water till it is just thick like a milkshake. Once the mix has cooled down you can then add your starter culture. You should see allot of activity in 2-3 days. I would recommend starting a new culture every 2-3 weeks. to make sure they do not die off, even if they look like they might be dead give it a try sometimes there is just enough to get a new one going.
HOW TO FEED: They are very easy to culture. Simply scrape them off of the sides of the container with a finger or a Q-tip then swish around in the tank.
