  • Lyndsay, Taylor, Alex, and Candice headed off to Hawaii for time off after finals.
  • The guilt of Josie’s blood disappeared from Taylor, but was still dwelling in Alex.
  • Josie was actually alive, and she was ready to get revenge.
  • Kortni and Brandi headed back to Pine Valley to further investigate Jeff’s kidnapping.

HONOLULU HILTON HOTEL, HAWAII - MID DAY

Lyndsay, Taylor, Alex, and Candice walk into the lobby, their handbags held close to their side, and brightly colored lays around their necks.

There are huge smiles painted across their faces as they look on in awe, amazed by the beauty of the ornate hotel.

There are Hawaiian paintings hanging boldly from the walls, which are covered with beautiful, colorful wallpaper, depicting oceans and jungles. The check in counter is inlaid with jewels and gold, as Candice walks up to the clerk.

The others take a seat at a sofa, which stands on legs of mahogany. Lyndsay looks at Taylor. "I want to go to the Beach!"

Her enthusiasm and energy goes unnoticed by Alex, who stands up and replies crudely, "I want to go take a piss."

Lyndsay laughs, and then realizes Alex isn’t trying to be funny and shuts up. All of the pressure from the last two days has built up within Alex. First, killing Josie by accident, then ridding of her body with Taylor, and the cramped space on the plane.

He looks briefly at Lyndsay, regretting his comment just a little, then heads to the bathroom.

Candice continues to sign in at the check-in counter as Alex soars past her and down a long hall, where a sign reading ‘BATHROOMS’ leads him in the correct direction.

Before he can open the door to the men’s room, his eye catches a glimpse of something. He glances up and looks at the girl, a dancer, shaking her hips and dancing to the beat of the Hawaiian drums in the background. The crowd of on-lookers watch in delight, as she does a complex technique, where she spins with one leg in the air. Although she wears a traditional top and grass skirt, she is blonde and obviously, not of Hawaiian decent.

For an instant, their eyes meet, then she stops dancing and an announcer gets up on the stage. "That was the style and grace of our very own, Amanda Friedman!"

The crowd applauds, and Alex walks into the bathroom, wondering about her.

    USC DORM ROOMS - NIGHT

A full-fledged 48 hours has passed since the car accident. Josie has waited long enough. It is time to exact her revenge on her attacker. How will she find the person who had hit her?

She has seen Alex before he hit her, and had heard mention of him through Lyndsay. It will be no trouble for her to find him and kill him. All she has to do is find out where Taylor lives. She unfolds a piece of paper which she nabs from her pocket.

"Taylor Brookdale." She murmurs, "There must be more information about him at the dorm."

She looks at the slip of paper, evilly yet thoughtfully. She folds it up and heads back to her own dorm room.

PINE VALLEY, COLORADO, JAILHOUSE - NIGHT

Kortni sits at the booth, waiting for Tristan to arrive. Brandi stands aside, looking on, ashamed and fearful to look Tristan in the eyes. She knows it is unfair that she is free on the streets while he serves hard time in jail.

Tristan walks in to the room and takes a seat at the booth. He looks at Kortni deep in the eyes, as if questioning her and her authority. He picks up the phone that he must speak through.

    Kortni does so also.

"Hello, Mr. Bany." Kortni says, shuffling some papers at her side of the booth.

"Hi." He says somberly. He is different now. A year has passed, and he has changed. He is tired, sad, and very alone. His sorrow is evident in his eyes. For a moment, Kortni feels pity for him.

"My name is Kortni Hope, and I am with the FBI. I am investigating a kidnapping that you may or may not have information on."

He looks at her quietly, waiting for her to continue, to take an initiative.

She looks back at him, and continues, "You may know him. Jeff Moore..."

Tristan’s eyes begin to flood with tears, as he painfully mutters, "Look, lady. I am doing my time alone in prison for a crime I was forced to commit. I don’t need any more burden about the people in my past, ok? I have no way I could-"

"I’m not naming you as a suspect," Kortni interrupts, saving him the trouble, "I just need to ask you a few questions. You may be indirectly involved."

Tristan hesitates, wiping some tears from him cheeks and chin, and the speaks. "What do you need to know?"

"The cult that Jeff was involved in has been ruled out as a suspect in this case. So we are turning to the next most probable suspects...possibly someone involved in the attempted murders last year. Now, we know it would have been impossible for you to set up a kidnapping, but you may know some crucial things."

    "Like..."

"Well, do you know who paid you off to try and kill the others?"

"Brandi," Tristan says. He hesitates, then changes his answer, "No, wait. Brandi was paid to pay me by someone else. I’m not sure who it was."

"Do you have any information on this person?"

"No, accept for we had specific orders to go after Taylor Brookdale. The others were only important because they were his friends, so if he escaped they would find out, and so they were targets only because of association."

"Great! That is just great!" Kortni says, enthusiastically. "Please, go on..."

    HONOLULU HILTON - NIGHT

Lyndsay and Taylor lay on one bed, while Alex and Candice lay on another. They are all exhausted, watching television.

Their bags have been emptied and neatly put away, and the lights have been dimmed down for comfort reasons. The walls of the hotel room are covered with paintings, and the beds and furniture are all of classic Hawaiian artistry.

Alex’s eyes are wide open. He wants more. The day seems almost unfulfilling to him. He wrestles with some thoughts as to what he can do at such a late hour. After a few moments, his eyes lighten up as an idea strikes him.

Alex looks at the others. "I feel like going to the spa. Who’s coming?"

"It’s 12 o’ clock..." Taylor replies drowsily, glancing at the clock on the wall, "we already did so much today, are you sure you want to go NOW?"

"Hey, like Candice said," Alex looks at Candice with a smile, "don’t be so reserved about everything! Take life as it comes to you!"

"Surfing, swimming, sun bathing, and shopping isn’t enough for you?" Lyndsay says sarcastically, her eyes half open.

"I’m young and energetic. Of course not."

"What ever you say!" Candice says, rolling over on the bed, "But I am going to bed."

"Ditto." Taylor says. "We’ve got lots of cool stuff to do tomorrow."

Alex’s smile turns into a frown. He sighs and gets up to leave the room. "I’ll be back in a hour."

USC CAMPUS, LYNDSAY’S DORM ROOM - NIGHT

Josie walks up to her dorm, and nabs a key chain from her pocket. Many small keys are dangling quite noisily from the chain, as she searches for the one that opens the door. Finally, she finds it, and is about to open the door when a note on the door catches her eye.

She snatches it hastily and glares at it. "Gone to Hawaii with Taylor and his pals. Be back in a week. If you need us, we’ll be staying at the Honolulu Hilton. Thanks! Linz."

She grunts in anger. If Taylor was with her, then it was more than likely that Alex had tagged along.

Josie’s mind is alive with a hundred thoughts and plans as she opens the door and walks inside.

    PINE VALLEY, COLORADO, - NIGHT

Brandi stands at the porsche of Stephanie Bahr’s house, knocking on the door. Brandi remains in the rental car, looking anxiously towards the house. There is no way she will come face to face with Stephanie, not after all the pain she has caused her.

A woman opens the door. "How may I help you?"

Kortni flashes her badge. "My name is Kortni Hope, I’m with the FBI. Is your daughter home, ma’am?"

"What is this regarding?" says the woman, her eyebrows furrowed.

"The kidnapping of one of your daughters acquaintances." Kortni replies.

"Oh my..." The woman hesitates, then calls, "Stephanie! There’s an FBI Agent here to see you!"

She turns her attention to Kortni. "She’ll be down in a second."

Moments later, Stephanie walks outside of the house. "Hi."

    "Hello, Stephanie."

Kortni explains the story to Stephanie, who hangs on her every word. She watches Kortni, her eyes wide and her jaw to the floor. She had no idea such things had taken place.

"Ok, so what do you need to know?" Stephanie asks.

"Tristan Bany has told me that there was an agenda against Taylor Brookdale in the midst of the murder attempts."

"I would say so." Stephanie says. "But I am not too informed on all of this. I dropped out of the whole plan before anything really happened."

"Is there anyone Taylor was confiding in that might have ulterior motives? Maybe a friend, neighbor..."

Stephanie’s eyes go bright as she starts to recall an incident, "I remember Devin told me that Taylor was seeing a hypno-therapist, and the therapist made up some dumb story about Taylor’s dad..."

"Do you know the therapist’s name?"

"I don’t recall." Stephanie says. "You’ll have to ask Taylor that."

Kortni processes the information for a while, and then responds. "Thanks."

She bows and turns back towards the car. Stephanie calls out a good-bye as Kortni gets into the driver’s seat, and looks at Brandi.

    "What happened?" Brandi asks.

"We are going to Los Angeles."

    HONOLULU HILTON, HAWAII - NIGHT

Alex’s head is leaned back as he relaxes and lets the warm water in the spa do it’s magic. His eyes are closed as he luxuriates, his body loose and tender.

Soon, a woman walks into the spa. "Hi."

"Hi." Alex greets, briefly opening his eyes. He closes them again, realizing that the girl looks familiar.

"Enjoying the hotel facilities?" She says, nestling down into the Jacuzzi herself, getting comfortable.

Alex only smiles. Something about that voice and that face is so familiar. After giving it some thought, Alex opens his eyes and looks at the girl.

"I swear I know you from somewhere."

She smiles. "I’m Amanda. You might have seen me earlier today. I dance at the hotel."

Alex’s eyes go wide, "That’s how I know you!"

Amanda giggles as she says jokingly, "I’m famous!"

"So, were you born in Hawaii?" Alex asks, starting conversation.

"No," Amanda replies, closing her eyes and relaxing, "I’m from Florida. I came here for college and I graduate this year."

"So what are you doing at the hotel?"

"Making money. A girl has needs you know. Trust me, it’s the best job. I took a course on Hawaiian dancing, then got a job here. It pays SO well."

"I can imagine," Alex says, "What do you really want to be?"

"I really want to be an actress."

"Really? I’m an actor." Alex smiles.

    "Are you?" Amanda replies.

"Yeah. I was on Crystal Cove for a few months. Have you ever seen that show?"

"No, but I’ve heard of it! I can’t believe you were actually on that show!"

Alex laughs, "Want an autograph? I was only on it for three episodes, then I quit."

"Oh my God, why?" Amanda squeals.

"I wanted to further my education, you know, go to college somewhere." Alex replies.

"So where do you go to school?"

"Los Angeles. I go to USC."

Amanda gasps, "Oh my God, are you kidding? I want to go to Los Angeles this year! You know, to look for my big break as an actress!"

"Well," Alex proposes, "Me and my friends are going back there in a week. Why don’t you come with us?" Amanda doesn’t hesitate to answer. "Sounds like a plan!"

    LAX AIRPORT - MORNING

Josie is sitting at a chair, gazing out the windows of the terminal. She glances at her watch, then at her boarding ticket. The flight would leave at 10 am, or in 45 minutes.

The only thought running through her head is that of Alex, running her down. She squints evilly, brewing up schemes and plots that may help her destroy Alex.

Suddenly, an announcer’s voice echoes throughout the terminal. "Flight 421, American Airlines to Honolulu is now boarding..."

    Josie smiles.

"I will get him." She says. "I will make him pay for trying to kill me. No one messes with me. No one."

With that, Josie stands up, her luggage held tightly to her side, and walks down the walkway to the plane.
