All divers must show their C-card before boarding the boat.
Water temperatures are pretty cool in the Bay year round - 38-42°F is common in the summer.
If you want to dive the Bay in the winter time, that's another story - but we can take you (with some extra preparation)!
6.5mm wetsuits and drysuits provide adequate exposure protection.
Local Dive shops provide airfills at reasonable prices.
We don't supply rental gear but can arrange rentals for you.
Coldwater diving is more streneous than warm water diving for many reasons. The equipment is bulkier, the weight belts are heavier, the body metabolizes more oxygen etc..
We recommend that divers be in good condition and allow for an extra safety margin in their dive planning. This could be done by cutting back on your bottom time, staying 10 feet shallower - or both!
Remember.. you will use more air diving in cold water too, so check your pressure gauge more often.
Divers with no cold-water experience should dive with a "buddy" who has cold water experience -or- elect to do a guided dive.
NITROX is not available in southern New Brunswick so if you wish to bring your own Nitrox tanks, well.. that's fine! We recommend that you use the Nitrox for an added safety margin instead of increasing bottom time beyond the no-decompression limits of the Air Tables. You can stay under only so long at these cooler temperatures.
We can provide good diving to all divers regardless of level, and experienced buddy teams can feel free to explore on their own.
Shore diving in our environment can be strenuous and because of the tides, visability close to shore can be very poor. It improves a lot around our offshore sites!
