30 Day Spread

This is a spread that is designed to help you see what is going to happen during the coming month.

Lay out the cards as below:

First week.   1.   2.   3.   4.   5.   6.   7.       32.

Second Week.  8.  9.  10.  11.  12.  13.  14.      33.

Third Week.  15.  16.  17.  18.   19.  20.  21      34.

Fourth Week.  22.  23.  24.  25.  26.  27.  28.      35.

29.30.31.

36.

This is a difficult spread to learn, as it is sometimes misleading.

Read from left to right, the first card being the day you are in and so counting 6 days from that. Each card represents each day. The final card, at the end of the row, will sum up each week for you. The one card at the end of the spread will sum up the month for you. The cards no. 29,30,31 are read as seperate days or as a block depending on how many days there are in the month. It is best to do this spread at the beginning of the month and work through it from there.

It is probably best to work with this spread for a while with yourself before using it for others. The main problem with this spread is that you often need a seperate deck for it as the lay out is so specific to it's own time frame. You need to remember that the Major Arcana that appear in this spread are not as important as the Major Arcana in other spreads unless they are directly surrounded by other Major Arcana cards. The spread works within it's own context and so a Major Arcana card here will probably only indicate a smaller event, whereas in a larger year spanning spread, it will indicate something far more significant.

It is a very large spread for such a short period of time so I think that it is probably best left for when you are more accustomed to reading the Tarot, rather than if you are a newbie. The way in which the cards need to be interpreted here are different to a normal spread, so it is probably better to get an idea of the other spreads first, before moving onto this one.

If you are a newbie and you want to go ahead with this spread anyway, you might want to check your findings with a smaller spread such as the Celtic Cross if you are having trouble interpreting a particular day.
