Here are some decks that are good for meditations and spells. They are often very different to the normal Tarot Decks and they often use very different images and numbers to the traditional books and they are not suitable for beginners reading at all.
I tried to put here links to deck and book sets rather than just the deck as with these decks you will need the books to go with them. Just remember that these decks are more for your personal interest, you don't need to nessesarily have a deck like one of these to do meditations or spells with the Tarot.
This deck will be good for meditations and is probably better for women rather than men. I don't have this deck so I can't vouch for it, only that it appears as though it is designed with a more esoteric interpretation of the Tarot in mind. Motherpeace Tarot Deck and Book Set
This is a very popular Tarot deck with women also. The Motherpeace has copped a lot of flack as it is a round deck, rather than the traditional rectangle. Either way, a lot of people find it to be very helpful with guidance rather than with divining.
A good deck for spells and Native American type meditations. I am not a Native American spell caster myself, but if you are drawn to that path then perhaps this deck will be helpful. It looks extremely interesting.
This is an interesting deck with really different images. It appears as though it is more a deck for the curious, rather than any real spellcraft or meditation purpose. But it is a nice looking deck, and one that could be used for personal readings or mediations.
I do not have this deck and I am a little unsure of exactly what it is. It sounds very interesting, but you might want to check this one out at the local bookstore in person before buying it. It would be very good for meditations and spells if it lives up to it's name. :)
This deck looks really cute. This should probably be on my decorative decks page, but I think that if this deck is used it is probably better used for spells and the like.
If you have been reading for a while, you will have come across some reference to Crowley and his work with the Tarot. Here is a Tarot deck and Tarot and book set that will get you started if you are looking to start reading what he had to say on the subject. I have both the book and the deck myself here, much as above, and to be honest I am not a Crowley fan at all. But even still, at some point it is important for a Tarot reader to view his work. **I do not recommend this book and deck set for anyone learning the Tarot or even for the intermediate reader**. It is best left for when you know enough about the Tarot to make up your own mind on the subject. But I do encourage the newbie who has been exposed to Crowley inadvertently to read some books about his life also.
