2008 Litters
Spring of 07 resulted in the huge baby crop for the 07 show season. And like most we experienced a horribly hot summer. So i made the decision to not breed during the summer, much to my dismay it was a bad decision as i suffered from sterile bucks and does not wanting to breed.
SOOO...After a poor fall 07 breeding season which resulted in ONE baby and NO winter babies WSF is happy to annouce that Spring 08 babies do exist :-) The 1st litter arrived on April 4th from WSF's Amy Sue and WSF's Astrosmash. Amy has once again had 4 "fat and happy" chesnuts. Amy is a consistent producer and a fantastic mom so it's suiting that she had the 1st litter of the year.
Thankfully, my does are breeding at a feverish pace, but i have lost 4 litters due to the latest cold snap. i did manage to save 1 baby the other day who i had to foster to a week older single kit litter. So hopefully it will make it. But i expect many babies as all but 2-3 does have successfully bred their first try for the year and does that have lost litters are being rebred a few days after the loss.
