Justice
Agenda
The BPOC will
install consecutive sentencing for all major offences to ensure public
safety from dangerous criminals.
The BPOC will establish an Official Review and
Complaints Board for our Federal Justice System to help make make Judges
and Parole Boards more accountable for their decisions. In areas such as the
release of sexual predators, we will look at requiring them to release a written
statement as to why the criminal was released.
The BPOC will eliminate the gun registry and
redirect the funds to other areas of policing and housing of criminals. We
feel an upgrade of the present registration done through the RCMP will be
suitable, and everyone who hasn't registered their old weapons, never will,
making the registry obsolete.
The BPOC will strive to fulfill sentences for
criminals committing crimes for offences such as murder, weapons related
offences, and organized crime offences, having the maximum sentence served
without parole.
The BPOC will review the Young Offenders Act making
young offenders more accountable for certain crimes. Violent crimes,
weapons crimes, and organized crime offences will see young offenders tried as
adults. We also support the removal of the publication ban on young offenders
found guilty of any violent crime, unless the safety of the offender or his
family is in question.
The BPOC will enact what we will call The Child
Consent Protection Act, which will leave the age of consent at 14,
provided both parties are within 5 years in age of each other. While doing this
we will also then make tougher laws on pedophiles, pushing for a safer world for
our children.
The BPOC will insure better rehabilitation options
for all criminals, and provide life skills courses to help ensure that
upon release they can become functioning assets to society.
The BPOC will ensure prisons have an on staff
psychiatric nurse for all suicide watch programs in all prisons, ensuring
the protection of the inmates.
The BPOC fully supports the idea of stricter
regulations for all federal prisons. All use of peripherals such as
television, computers, and recreational facilities will be strictly monitored
for content and availability. Destruction of said peripherals will install an
immediate ban for all prisoners involved in the destruction of property.
The BPOC is in favor of a move towards legalization
of marijuana. We feel that this will free up court time, and take away a
great deal of income from organized crime.
The BPOC is in favor of stricter regulations
regarding granting of parole, especially in the case of dangerous
offenders. The BPOC believes tougher parole requirements will make those who
want out, better prisoners.
The BPOC will lean towards legalizing prostitution,
taxed and regulated by the government. We feel both sides will benefit
from this. Said prostitute will be safer, and will be tested for diseases on a
regular basis. This would also help ensure safety for both parties involved. We
feel no legislation will ever put an end to the "oldest profession",
but we can at least protect those involved better.
