Time Warp

“Are you ready?” A.J. asked when he got to my house a few days later.

“Yea.” I replied. “Is it okay about us going to the amusement park instead of watching a movie?”

“I guess.” He replied as I locked my door. “It should but fun. I’m just kinda tired.”

“We don’t have to stay long. I just wanted to do something fun and different.”

“Okay.” He said opening the car door. “That’s alright, baby. We can do what you want to today. We’ll just go watch a movie next week.”

“That’s cool.” I replied stepping into the car. “How long are you going to be here?”

“I don’t really know. Not more than a month.”

“You’re never here very long.”

“I know, baby, I’m sorry, I can’t help it.”

“I know. It’s your job, but let’s not worry about it now. Let’s just have fun!”

“That was so much fun!” I exclaim on the way back to my house after our trip to the amusement park.

“Yea that was fun.” AJ agreed. “We should do that again. Maybe we can next time I’m home.”

“But that’ll be in forever.”

“I know. I don’t think there is any other time for us to do it again any time soon.” He sighed. “Sorry no more roller coaster or water rides for a while, baby.”

“Alright.”

“We are set for watching a movie tomorrow night aren’t we?” He asked pulling up to my apartment building.

“Tomorrow??” I questioned. “I have class tomorrow night. How about the next day? Would Friday be okay?”

“I guess, even though I wish you’d stop blowing me off for class.” He sighed getting out of the car

“I’m sorry! I have to get my degree. You know that means a lot to me AJ.”

“I know and I have to respect that since you have made such sacrifices for my work I can make sacrifices for your collage.”

“Thank you,” I smiled as I got out of the car.

“It’s the least I can do isn’t it?”

“Yea I guess so. Do you wanna come in for a few minutes?”

“Sure.” AJ replied nonchalantly as we started up the stairs. “Might as well since it’s not that late.”

“Nope. It’s really not for once.”

“What are we going to watch Friday night?”

“Doesn’t matter.” I replied. “You’re the one who wanted to watch the movie.”

“I was thinking Twister. I haven’t seen that in a while.”

“That’s fine with me.” I pulled my keys out of my purse and unlocked the door.
