The glory of this life is not for the believers and those who are patient. It is for the most part for the evil people, the wrong-doers and the arrogants.
Let us look at what Allah Almighty said in the Noble Quran:
"Those who desire the life of the present and its glitter,- to them we shall pay (the price of) their deeds therein,- without diminution. They are those for whom There is nothing in the Hereafter But the Fire: vain Are the designs they frame therein, And of no effect Are the deeds that they do! (The Noble Quran, 11:15-16)"
"The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for God bestows His abundance without measure on whom He will. (The Noble Quran, 2:212)"
"Those who love the life of this world more than the Hereafter, who hinder (men) from the Path of God and seek therein something crooked: they are astray by a long distance. (The Noble Quran, 14:3)"
"These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped. (The Noble Quran, 2:86)"
"But when he delivereth them, behold! they transgress insolently through the earth in defiance of right! O mankind! your insolence is against your own souls,- an enjoyment of the life of the present: in the end, to Us is your return, and We shall show you the truth of all that ye did. "Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception. (The Noble Quran, 3:185)"
"Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For God sees well all that they do. (The Noble Quran, 2:96)"
"Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except God: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting God. (The Noble Quran, 6:70)"
"Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). (The Noble Quran, 15:3)"
"Why were there not, among the generations before you, persons possessed of balanced good sense, prohibiting (men) from mischief in the earth - except a few among them whom We saved (from harm)? But the wrong-doers pursued the enjoyment of the good things of life which were given them, and persisted in sin. (The Noble Quran, 11:116)"
As we clearly see in the above Noble Verses, the best of things life has to offer is for the most part for the arrogants and the evil-doers. The evil doers will find plenty of deception in life, through the enjoyment of evil doing. They will also find power and wealth to "allure" them. The believers must always ignore the evil doers and keep their faith and trust in Allah Almighty alone, and always know and keep in mind that it is He who divides the wealth and the power among people, and it is He who controls everything that happens to us.
If a believer is suffering from lack of wealth or lack of power in life, then he/she should know that it is normal for this happen, and he should accept everything that happens to him, because Allah Almighty chooses to distribute wealth and power among His creations as He pleases and sees fit, and also because Allah Almighty decided to reward the wrong-doers in this life and Punish them Severely in the Life after:
"God doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure, the sustenance (which He giveth) to whom so He pleaseth. (The worldly) rejoice in the life of this world: But the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter. (The Noble Quran, 13:26)"
"Nor can a soul die except by God's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude. (The Noble Quran, 3:145)"

The wealth and power of this life are described in the Noble Quran as follows:
"Fair in the eyes of men is the love of things they covet: Women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. Such are the possessions of this world's life; but in nearness to God is the best of the goals (To return to). (The Noble Quran, 3:14)"
"The likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! thus do We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect. (The Noble Quran, 10:24)"
Muslims must face life with patience and perseverance:
Muslims must always be accepting to everything Allah Almighty gives them in life from blessing and hardship. A Muslim must always be patient and seek Allah Almighty in Prayer (whether during the five-daily prayers or in wishing and asking):
"And be steadfast in patience: For verily Allah will not suffer The reward of the righteous To perish. (The Noble Quran, 11:115)"
"Nay, seek (Allah's) help With patient perseverance And prayer: It is indeed hard, except To those who bring a lowly spirit -- Who bear in mind the certainty That they are to meet their Lord, And that they are to return to Him. (The Noble Quran, 2:45-46)"
"O ye who believe! seek help With patient Perseverance And Prayer: for Allah is with those Who patiently preserve. (The Noble Quran, 2:153)"
"It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing. (The Noble Quran, 2:177)"
There are a lot more Noble Verses that I could add, but I think the above ones are sufficient enough to prove my point.
Conclusion:
Life should not be the Muslim's ultimate goal. Pleasing Allah Almighty should be the ultimate goal. Learning how to accept and deal with life is essential to our daily lives. Muslims must always face life with patience and perseverance no matter how high or low in wealth and power Allah Almighty grants them. The true Muslims must always be thankful to Allah Almighty and always be satisfied with everything He the Almighty gives them.
Also, they must always watch out from becoming arrogants. Too much wealth and power can cause the person to lose faith and forget Allah Almighty and become arrogant. Accepting life as is from Allah Almighty is the key for the Muslim to maintain his goodness and gratefulness toward Allah Almighty.
