December 27, 2000 - Wednesday

Well, my dishes are done, my house is somewhat cleaned up...somewhat being the key word, my suitcase is mostly packed I'm almost ready to leave, but will I be able to go anywhere? It looked like the Chitose airport might be snowed in, at least it looked like it on the news tonight. I hope that it clears up by tomorrow.

However, as usual, I'm ahead of myself and I haven't talked about today yet. The walk to work was fine today, I met my landlord on the way and he offered me a ride, but I didn't take it. I wanted to go to the convenience store on the way to work.

It was weird being the only person there for most of the day. My first student showed up and we had a great lesson. She told me about her car accident. It sounded like she had a lucky escape.

My second and fourth classes didn't show up, they both phoned though, so it wasn't too bad. I didn't have to worry about them. The fourth class, I think his father called and I talked to him, but I didn't actually understand what he said, so I thought my student would just be late!

I did some redecorating in my room today. It's going to be nice if and when I finished. I'll have to finish it next week though. Oops, I mean next year!

After work I left and walked home. I stopped off at the convenience store to grab something for supper then headed off on my way. The snow ploughs had gone down my street and chewed up all the snow so I couldn't see where the ice was. Well, I found it and hit the ground with a bang! My dignity, butt and back hurts now. I was darn lucky not to get hit by a car. There was one right behind me!

At home I washed dishes and did a bit more picking up of stuff. I went crazy last night at 3:00 am and just started throwing things away. That lasted for a few minutes!

Now I'm going to go to bed so I can get up early and attempt to catch a train. Wish me luck! There might be erratic or should I say sporadic reports from my vacation. Maybe!
