July 20, 2000 - Thursday
Today is Marine Day so I had a holiday. I enjoyed it very much. It was nice having
the day off work. I had planned to do a lot of things, but in actual fact, I did
very little.
I got up and watched the news that I'd taped overnight...some was very sad, other
parts were happy....like the Queen Mum's Birthday celebrations.
I ate brunch and then I'm a bit ashamed to say this, but I shut myself in my bedroom
and took a nap. I deserved it though, didn't I ?
After I woke up...don't know how long I slept, I went to the video store to return
my videos. I had promised myself that I wouldn't rent that many again, but I did.
One nice thing is that the videos are very cheap and they have a great selection.
However, I rented a real clunker....Excess Baggage. Why on earth would Alicia Silverstone
make that mess. She was so good in Clueless and so clue less in this movie.
After renting five videos, I went for a walk. I wanted to see if I could find my
way from the video store to the train station. I managed quite easily. On the way
to the train station I saw the ocean...quite appropriate for Marine Day.
I walked home then and tried to watch Excess Baggage. I got about 4 phone calls during
it but believe me, the 4 calls were more interesting than the movie.
And that's it. I've put in another movie, with Brendan Fraser. He's pretty cool.

I'll go to bed soon, I have to go to work tomorrow after all.
