July 23, 2000 - Sunday
Before I went to bed last night I had a telephone call. It was one of those telephone
calls that you can only have at 4:00 am. It was an orgy of girl talk with my friend
Taeko. I can't remember when I enjoyed such a long call!
Then, when my alarm went off this morning it was to the sweet strains of Burton Cummings.
I admit that I sang "Break it to Them Gently" and "I Will Play a Rhapsody" quite
loudly. I even re-played the last one three times and sang every time. I spent a
lot of my teenage years listening to Burton Cummings... and those two songs were my
particular favourites. If you don't know him, look out for him. A great Canadian
singer-songwriter.
I attempted to do laundry this morning...I got most of a load done. I had to leave
and go to the party at work.
The party went well. It was fun. After the party in the school, we went to a restaurant
and ate and drank for a while. It was very nice. After the restaurant we were going
to go for coffee, but the shop was closing. So, we went to a steak house and had coffee. I'm a bit buzzed from two cups of very strong and not very good coffee.
I watched Married to the Mob earlier...love that flick. Michelle Pfeiffer is really
sweet in it. I'm now watching Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow. It's great too. I rented
3 movies that I'd seen before last time at the video store. Some times you just
want a reliable movie that you know you'll love. Know what I mean?
And that's it. When the movie is over, I'll likely put out my garbage and go to bed.
It's been a long day, and I have a ton of work to do tomorrow.
