March 6, 2000 - Monday
Another busy day! I got up a bit later than I planned to, but thought it was okay.
I did my laundry and then decided that if I hurried I could just about catch the
2:00 pm train to Sakata. I set off and did in fact catch the train. I had a reason
to go to Sakata. I had to do my visa application. It's a 2 trip process, apply today,
go back next week for the official stamp in my passport.
After taking care of business at the Immigration Center I walked back to the downtown
part of Sakata. I nosed around a gift shop, thinking about things to buy next time,
and checked out the department store. I bought more writing paper and envelopes.
I'm not sure why, I never seem to have time to write letters!
After poking around the store for a while, I walked back to a video store where I
bought a video and then discovered it was 50% off. Yay me. I don't know anything
about the film, if it's good, I'll fill you in!
I finished my visit to Sakata by snooping around Daiei, yet another department store
and then headed back to the train station. I came straight home, and watched the
remaining video from last weekend. It was "Up Close and Personal" with Michelle
Pfeiffer and Robert Redford. The man is still amazing looking! She's not bad either though.
Then, I had to return the videos. On the way back from that I stopped to get a
few groceries, but really the store didn't have anything that I wanted, so I bought
a few things and came home. And that was that.
Not a terribly interesting day maybe, but definitely not the same old, same old.
I hope the coming week will be as interesting!
