October 10, 2000 - Tuesday
A little reminder....No updates until October 26th...please check back then.
Today was a frustrating day. I wanted to get a pocket telephone for the time that
I'm going to be in Tomokamei, so I could stay in touch with a certain person. My
manager graciously agreed to help me and we walked down the covered mall to a store.
The J-Phone store. Yes, I'm naming names. We talked to the store clerk, my manager filled
in the forms for me, and then we were told that it took 40 minutes to hook things
up and I should come back then.
On my lunch hour I went back. I was met by two clerks, one was the previous one.
They told me that I needed to let them see, and no doubt copy, my passport. Bear
in mind that they already had a copy of my Alien Registration Card. There is no
information in my passport that isn't on my Alien Registration Card. I refused. I don't actually
like those telephones at all so I left the store, sans phone.
Apart from that, the day wasn't great either. The classes were fine, really, but
I just felt really down.
I came home tonight and packed.I probably packed all the wrong things, I'm just not
sure what to take.
I'm now watching a repeat of Friends, which is one of the nicest things to happen
all day.
Anyway, I'll talk to you in a couple of weeks.....maybe!
