October 31, 2000 - Tuesday
Happy Halloween! I hope there are a lot of treats and not many tricks in store for
you in the future.
Well, at the start of the day, my voice had actually improved. I think trying not
to use it yesterday was a good idea. However, I talked a lot today and it's a bit
husky now, but it is almost back to normal.
I walked to work this morning and it was quite warm, pleasant even. Work itself
was fine. I did a lot of planning and then teaching.
On my lunch hour, I went out and paid my rent. It was weird, when I went into the
bank machine area, there was a person lying on the floor. I didn't think too much
about it, I've been seeing a lot of people sleeping rough, and there were lots of
people in the bank so I wasn't worried about getting mugged or anything. I was trying to
pay my rent...the machine wasn't co-operating though when I heard a lot of yelling.
There was a woman trying to get the woman on the floor up and out of there. I think
they knew each other, but I'm not sure. I'm afraid I didn't pay too much attention.
The bank machine was driving me crazy! It took me about 15 minutes to figure out
just what in the heck I was doing.
One of my classes cancelled today...both students called in and said that they couldn't
come in. It's a bit sad actually. I wanted to teach them.
Most classes went well and I was on the whole quite happy with them.
After school I took down all of my Halloween decorations and then spent 40 minutes
putting them in order so I can use them again.
Then, I walked home slowly. It was warm, but when I got close to my apartment, it
was starting to rain. Oh dear. I hope it's just rain and not the s word!
There you have it....my day. Not exciting, not boring. A pretty good one.
