February 19, 2001 - Monday
I had a busy day! After yesterday where I did nothing, today I was very busy.
I overslept again, and I had to rush and shower before my Japanese lesson. I turned
off the water and drained the pipes before I left.
The lesson was good, but I still had forgotten a lot of things. After I returned
my videos I thought I'd get my hair cut, but the shop was closed. In fact it looked
like they were re-building or something. So, as my afternoon was free, I decided
to go to the mall. I caught a bus and went.
At the mall I did a touch of shopping for Justin's birthday present. I won't tell
you what I bought but I hope he'll like it. I also thought about going to a movie,
but decided to wait a bit. In fact, I decided to go to Sapporo.
I went to Kotoni and got off the train. I did a bit of shopping at the store that
sells international food and then walked to the subway station. On the way I saw
a store with large sizes and I had a look around. I felt a bit like I was under
inspection in the store, but actually they were very nice. I didn't buy anything, but I might
go back.
I went on to the subway and caught a train to Odori. In Sapporo I went shopping!
I bought magazines, books and just had a great old time. I enjoyed it. My feet
were sore, but I felt good. Oh, while I remember it, I found Canadian beer today!
Yep, I bought 2 cans of Labatt's Blue. I've looked for Canadian beer for ages, but couldn't
find it anywhere. No, it's not for me, it's for a friend who likes beer.
After I'd shopped for a while I decided to go back to Mycal and see a movie. I was
lucky and caught a train very quickly, and got a seat too. Yay! I got off at the
mall.
I decided to buy my plane tickets for next month's vacation. So I did, in mostly Japanese.
Yeah! Yay me!
Then I went to see Pay It Forward. It was okay....but not great. What I found interesting
was that at the end of the film they played a song by Jane Siberry. She's a very
weird Canadian singer. I thought it was her when I heard the song, but I just wasn't sure. I didn't think that she'd be doing the song of a hit movie.
After the movie I walked to the train station and was lucky enough to catch a train
almost immediately. My backpack was very heavy so walking up the hill wasn't fun,
but I made it.
And that's it...my day. It was good. Sadly, I'm back to work tomorrow, sigh. Oh
well. Night!
