June 20, 2001 - Wednesday
Hello, hello! Welcome to another scintillating day in my life. Well, it wasn't exactly
scintillating, but it was okay.
I had a hard time getting up this morning. I was listening to Cliff Richard. The
new cd I bought is great. I only listened to the second cd, with his songs from
the 80's on, but it was good. I'll have to listen to the first part of his career
later.
It was quite a rainy day today. Each time I went out it was drizzling rain. It wasn't
raining enough to use my umbrella, but just a little damp. By the time I walked
home tonight it had stopped raining.
I only had 3 classes today but I wasn't bored. I planned a few lessons from scratch
which was good. I also did a lot of paperwork that needed to be done. It was the
20th so we needed to do our paperwork for the month. I was lucky, I got out of the
office fairly early. I left just after 10. Yay me!
My kids lesson went quite well today. I rather enjoyed it. One of the two, the boy
is a character. He's just the right side of naughty. He says things but he has
a real twinkle in his eye so I know that he's just kidding around. At first I thought
he was bad, but I caught him being nice to his classmate so I realized that most of
it was bravado.
Oh, yeah, one of my students brought her boyfriend by. He is an American, in the
Navy, and he surprised her by coming to Otaru unexpectedly. It was nice to meet him.
He seems very nice.
And, in a nice turn of events, my birth certificate arrived in the mail today. That
means I can start applying to renew my passport. Hurray.
