October 1, 2001 - Monday
A pretty good day. I got up reasonably early, earlier even than my alarm. I prepared
a box of books for Susan and something for Gabrielle, showered and went off to visit
my teacher. I didn't have a lesson today, just a nice chat. I showed her my wedding pictures. I think she enjoyed it! I also gave her my omiyage from Canada.
After I left her I went to the friendly little post office near her home and mailed
my stuff. I felt a bit funny because I still had to seal the box for Susan, I wanted
to put in the pictures before I mailed it. That done, I headed for the mall.
Okay, I admit it. I went to see a movie. I know I'm supposed to be packing, but
it had been ages since I saw anything decent and I really wanted to go out. AND
one nice thing was that as it was October 1st, it only cost 1000. Not too bad.
I went to see Bridget Jones's Diary again. It was funny, but I think that the opening and closing
credits were different than the ones in Canada.
After the movie I went to the 100 yen shop and bought packing tape and then went to
the post office and mailed Susan one more book that wouldn't fit in the box. She's
going to wonder what happened when she gets all my stuff.
Then, I had a cup of hot chocolate at one coffee shop and walked back to the other
end of the mall and had a quick bite at another coffee shop. I had teriyaki chicken
panini. Yum.
I decided to come home by bus instead of by train, as I just didn't feel like facing
those hills. It was nice, not too busy but as I got off the bus it started to rain.
Still, it wasn't too hard so it was fine to come back to my apartment.
In the apartment I became a taping fool and taped up all the boxes that I packed yesterday.
I also packed up my books (sob) and my shoes. I packed a bunch of clothes up too.
Oh it sounds like I did a lot, doesn't it? I guess I did, but I have so much more to do. Sigh.
I didn't have much in the way of edible food left in the house so I went out for supper.
I went to Columbia on Hanozono and had Wafu Hamburg. It was good. I read (or re-read)
a bit of Bridget Jones's Diary when I was there. Oh, I forgot, I bought the soundtrack for the movie today, and another Dean Martin cd. This is Volume 2 of another
one I bought before. It's Dean so of course it's marvelous.
That's about it, besides having a quick phone chat with my wonderful husband. I still
feel a bit weird about calling him that. Somehow can't believe that I'm married,
but I am, really!
Anyway, I'm out of things to say for the evening. I'm off to bed soon. I didn't
pack as much as I wanted to, but I did do a bit. Wish me luck tomorrow.
