Beautiful as the Moon

Missy with friend
Alta Mesa

In the dappled sun by
the majestic oaks the breeze
alternates between cool from the
shade and warm from the expanse of
lawn. Birds winging and
singing, carrying twigs for nest
building. Bright flowers dot the
lawn, here and there at irregular spots.
Each one gaily marks the self-same
sadness that brings me here.
