Timeline

2001

Dimitri and Edmund received a phone call from Alex, but although she said she was fine, she wouldn't tell them where she was. Edmund pulled a fast one, and traced the call. Faster than you can say, "Pass the mutton", Dimitri and Edmund were flying the not so friendly skies, on their way to Canada. Little did they know that Dimitri's long-time pilot had been paid off by evil-doers, and had betrayed them.

They arrived at the isolated cabin where Alex's call had originated, and found not one Alex, but two.

Actually, one of them was Alex's twin sister Anna Devane, wife of Robert Scorpio, who had been killed in a boat explosion on General Hospital about 8 years ago. A man named Bart had found Anna after her death, and kept her from any further harm.

A warm reunion between Dimitri and Alex ensued, until a bad guy showed up wanting to kidnap Anna. He was quickly dispatched with his own gun. His dying words hinting that some big bad mama was out there wanting to kill Anna (again)!

Amazingly enough, multi-talented Bart can fly planes! What luck. So, he flew them all home, and they cleverly deposited Anna in the turret at Dimitri's estate, thinking that no one would ever find her there. (Apparently, they don't watch the show, or they would have known that the Wildwind turret is also known as Grand Central Station.)

Positive that no one had seen them go to the turret, they all left Anna by herself while they went out to haul in the medical equipment. Anna woke up, and was surprised to see her first gentleman caller: Evil Dr. Dave.

Anna thought he was there to kill her. David thought that this was a perfect opportunity to tell "Alex" that she didn't really see what she thought she saw at the yacht party. But, Anna pulled a gun on him, and that shut him up. When the real Alex did show up, she and David quickly made a deal. David wouldn't go blabbing to the whole world that Anna was alive and living in the Wildwind turret, if Alex would keep her mouth shut about David spiking the punch with Libidizone at the party.

In the meantime, Dimitri, while at the hospital looking for Alex's medical bag, ran into Erica. Dimitri told her the good news that Alex was back! Erica's forced smile at the news was a very good effort on her part. Dimitri told her that if she really wanted to help, she would stay away from Wildwind and give Alex and him time to be together.

The Wildwind bunch put their heads together, and decided that they had to put Anna in the hospital to save her life, where they told everyone (except Joe Martin) that she was Alex. Real Alex, trying to treat Anna while she was having a seizure, wigged-out and didn't know how to treat her. Happily, Dr. Dave showed up and saved the day. Alex was very grateful, but Dimitri still couldn't forget that David's a low-life evil guy who's taking advantage of Dixie.

March 21, 2001 - And thus ends, for now, the saga of the dashing Dimitri Marick. PseudoDimitri will begin on April 6th, and hopefully will be very temporary. We'll miss Michael until he returns.

July 9, 2001 - On this day, the reign of PseudoDimitri ends, as he and Alex mercifully go off to Europe.

During his tenure, Gillian and Ryan got married, FauxDimitri skipped around a lot, and Gillian got shot in the head and died.

On October 1st, GhostGilly went to Ryan in his dreams and bid him a tearful farewell.

They danced to this song:

All of these nights without you
All of my dreams surround you
I feel and I touch your face
I fall into your embrace
When the time is right, I know
You'll be in my arms

~Adagio~

2001 ended with Edmund announcing at the Crystal Ball that Dimitri and Alex would match whatever funds were raised that night.
