1st-5th
With high pressure across much of the country it will be mostly dry and cool or cold. Mist or fog patches in places with frosty nights in most areas. Good sunny spells in many areas away from were fog lingers. Becoming cloudier in the south and in Northwest Scotland later.
5th-7th
The main area of high pressure will move to the Northeast allowing strong east or north-easterly winds across much of England and bringing in wintry showers off the north sea to eastern areas. More significant snow falls moving north into southern counties. Severe night frosts particularly in places sheltered from the wind. Milder in the northwest and much of Scotland with some light rain or drizzle at times as weather systems come closer in to the far north.
7th-10th
As high pressure re-establishes itself over eastern areas and the North Sea it will Become dry and cold with a lot of sunshine in many areas away from Northwest Scotland. Still a few shower possible in East Anglia. Widespread and severe night frosts. Becoming cloudier and milder later across the west of Ireland and the far Southwest of England as weather systems attempt to push north and east.
10th-15th
Very active low pressure areas will deepen as they push north giving a period of heavy snow across England and into Scotland. Turning to rain as milder air pushes north on gale force Southwest winds staying quite cold in the far south east of england. Becoming stormy in western areas with bands of heavy rain or heavy showers. Risk of local flooding in the south west and across Wales. Significant snow falls for at time of the high ground of Scotland.
15th-17th
Active Storm systems with heavy rain will push slowly east across England. Turning less mild as the wind turns to the Northwest. As the rain clears from the Northwest heavy shower will develop and in the north and west they will turn wintry over the higher ground later. Very wet for a time in eastern areas.
17th - 20th
Cold northerly gales moving south across England and Wales. Heavy shower becoming wintry as it turns colder from the north. Some significant snow falls over the higher ground of Scotland. Showers becoming less frequent in the west of Scotland later. Cloudier and still mild in the far south.
20th - 25th
Clearer colder weather moving south with a lot of sunshine as high pressure extends south from Iceland. Still a few snow showers down the East Coast. Much less windy. Cloudier and less cold in the far south with some snow at times in the Southeast. Turning cloudier in the west of Scotland later. Severe night frost becoming more wide spread.
25th- 31st
High pressure toppling south across the England and Wales allowing weather systems to affect the Northwest where it will turn milder. Staying cold further south with mist and fog patches developing. Severe night frosts in the Southeast.
