Born in California, but moved to Indiana for a little while, where he met his wife Vicki and married her. They moved to France where the two had their first child, Robert Bicket Jr. (now Sizzle). After a few years, his wife became pregnant again, but they had been having trouble and split up. In another few years, while Robert Jr and Robert Sr were living in Paris, Robert Sr was approached and informed about how powerful his first born would become. Robert Sr panicked and, after discussing it with his separated wife, gave Robert Jr up to the Mutant Security Enforcers. It didn't take more than a day for Robert Sr. to regret his decision, but Robert Jr was already on a plane to North America. The problem brought Robert Sr back together with his wife in order to search for their first born son. Their search led them back to America, where they searched for a long time. But there was no way they could find a covert government agency, and they soon ran out of money. They were forced to settle down in Barstow, CA and live with their decision.

But around what would be their first born's 18th birthday, he delivered a pizza to their house for a party they were having. They could immediately tell who the delivery boy was, but he had not grown into a forgiving man. Robert Jr still to this day resents them for their decision.

One day, Robert Jr called Robert Sr while his wife was away on business. He had called to tell his father about his new team, the Alpha Squadron, but the TV's reception went bad during the conversation. When Robert Sr went up to check the dish, a lightning bolt struck the dish and sent electricity coursing through his body, enough to kill a normal person.

His son Sizzle flew to his house to save him, and took him to his mansion for the medical facilities there. But when Robert Sr awoke, his son told him that he had no burns, no cuts, not even a scrape. He had found that Robert Sr had a "blank gene", which had been waiting Robert Sr's entire life to have some form of energy to replicate. Now Robert Sr can blast electricity that should have killed him. But Sizzle had found something else, a tiny device that was made to attract that lightning bolt. It had been planned. Now Robert Sr has dedicated his life to saving others, and to finding out who got him struck by a lightning bolt.
