These are some of the various musicians that have been known to show up in the Lucas Carpenter universe...

John Brewton - Drums

John was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and started playing in clubs at age 16.  He attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.  John has preformed with many bands and songwriters and has recorded in professional studios in Boston, New York City, Pittsburgh, and Toronto.  John and Lucas met in a music theory class while attending The University of Pittsburgh in 2001.  He co-produced and played drums on Life's Honest Rhythm.

 

Anthony Pecora - Bass

        Anthony started playing with the group in the summer of 2002.  His hip-hop heavy bass lines add a whole new dimension to the music.  Not only does he play with Lucas, but he also plays with various other bands around Pittsburgh including Sporadic.  You can hear Anthony on the live version of "Her" at mp3.com.

 

 

Tracey Whorton - Percussion

Tracey's first show with the band was on May 31, 2002, at Club Cafe.  She graduated from Duquesne's University as a composition major.  She plays in numerous bands around Pittsburgh including The Fuzzy Comets.  Tracey's grooves are like butta!  You can hear Tracey on the live version of "Her" at mp3.com.

 

 

Cass Barbour - Piano

Cass was born in the booming metropolis of Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania.  He not only is an accomplished songwriter and piano player, but he also plays guitar, trombone, and accordion to name a few.  Aside from playing in numerous bands, Cass has played solo in numerous clubs, restaurants, and coffee shops.  Lucas and Cass met through a mutual friend in March of 2001.  He played piano on Life's Honest Rhythm and is currently studying recording technology at Ithaca College of Music in New York State.

 

Nathan Fay - Bass

Nathan grew up in Connecticut and graduated from the Hart School of Music as a classical bass major.  He has played with many performers including Pittsburgh’s Jody Abbot and Liz Berlin of Rusted Root.  Lucas and Nathan met at a club in Pittsburgh in January of 2002.  He performed with Lucas on Life's Honest Rhythm and at various shows throughout the winter and spring of 2002.  For the past year and a half Nathan has played bass for the national touring theater company Squonk Opera.

 

Kevin Kornicki - Percussion

Lucas' album Life's Honest Rhythm was recorded at Kevin's home studio, Mom's Basement, in the winter of 2002.  He also engineered, co-produced, and played percussion on the album.  Not only does Kevin play with several musician around the Pittsburgh area, but he also writes, arranges, and performs with the national touring company  Squonk Opera.

 

 

Tim Breon - Bass

Tim engineered and co-produced Lucas' album Sun Bleached Windowpane.  He performs with Lucas every now and then whenever he's not doing a million other gigs!  Tim has engineered for many performers in central PA and even some national acts such as Davy Jones of The Monkees.  When he is not engineering records, performing in numerous bands, or teaching, Tim can be found playing double-bass with The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra.
