So you decided to continue on.  Let's view a piece of "my little world".  I can't say your decision  surprises me. Flying an R/C is very exhilarating, a real rush.  Imagine controlling the uncontrollable, if you can.  Although I've been involved with aviation pretty much all my life, I just started flying last year.  So by no means have I mastered it yet.  But I'm trying......

Go ahead, ask me!

"Where Do I Start?"

  1. Get a good Trainer Package.  - Great Planes PT-40 series or Thunder Tiger 40 mark III series.

  2. Don't pay too much. - The combo pkg will run about $275.00 - $325.00 depending where you go.

  3. Okay put the thing together - Guys ask your wives to read the directions completely though before you start!

  4. Take your time - Once you finish it will be to windy too fly anyway.

  5. Be prepared to spend money - Like any hobby this will consume all your money.

"What's Next Tom?"

  1. Plane is now 100% together - Proceed to the last page of your manual.

  2. Balancing the Airplane - This is very important so DO IT!

  3. Pre-start checks - Assuming you've charged the batteries, turn on both the plane and receiver learn the controls.

  4. Join the AMA - It's a $48.00 a year cost but it's well worth it. AMA

  5. Join a local R/C Club - Here you will find a good flight instructor.  Indiana residents join Sugar Creek
