a. New Radicals founder Gregg Alexander has an obsession with pop culture. Convinced that the music business has been corrupted by "corporate America" and overzealous pop rockers that hide behind their images, Alexander uses cynicism and a razor-sharp sense of reality to cut through the facade. a a a

a. Austin Powers "It's groovy, man!" Hehehe … I haven't laughed this hard in a theatre since last year's "The Waterboy" with Adam Sandler. "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" gets my vote for the funniest movie of the year so far. Going into the movie, I was afraid that the funniest scenes were shown in the trailers - remember "Hot Shots Part Deux" - but fortunately, that's not the case. This movie is a roller coaster of laughs. The jokes and gags just keep on coming, and don't stop until the end of the credits.  (Senh Duong) a a a

The original Star Wars trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI) told the story of Luke Skywalker, a young farmboy who became a hero in the struggle to overthrow an evil empire and had to confront one of the Empire's staunchest henchmen, Darth Vader, who held the terrible secret of his father's fate. Hugh Grant r first appeared in front of the camera at Oxford in Privileged at the age of 22; he then went on to theatre work, forming his own revue. His movie career took off at 27, in Merchant-Ivory's Maurice, for which he won the Venice Film Festival's Best Actor prize. After that, he was cast as Lord Byron and Chopin. Grant never seems to take himself too seriously, which made his youthful sophistication in Four Weddings so endearing. The surprise success of that picture made Grant the flavor of the year in Beverly Hills boardrooms and, apparently, on Hollywood Boulevard....

Notting Hill is an extremely charming film with so much love to offer. It's a concoction that's hard to resist. You'll come out of it with a warm fuzzy feeling in the tips of your toes. It's nice to have a film that just wants to gplease, I just wish they didn't lay such a heavy topic wet blanket over the proceedings.
