Artist Statement

When I first became an artist I was in the hospital with asthma at barely age two and the nurse gave me crayons. The nurse was amazed- I was drawing actual pictures, not scribbling, and I have been drawing and painting ever since. The voices in my head won't let me stop... J

For me art is a way to express complex emotions and give shape to what I feel at any given moment. It is a way of dealing with everything that is jumbled up in my head, how I experience the world around me.

I want to explore all styles of art, and continue experimenting with different art forms. I never want to become stagnant as an artist. I want to allow myself to develop new ideas, and to always have a fresh outlook on my art. I think I might have been born in the wrong era, but if it means being a starving artist, that's okay. I'd rather starve doing something that is my lifeblood, than be rich doing something boring.
