We admitted we were powerless over food - that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it. 11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation - some fact about my life - unacceptable to me, and i can find no serenity until I accept the person, place, thing, or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing absolutely nothing happens in God's world by mistake. Until I could accept my eating disorder, I could not stay healthy; unless I accept life completely on life's terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and my attitudes.
If you would like to send some recovery stories please feel free, I will start another page. My experience with Anorexia I have found that a lot of my triggers for my drinking were also the same triggers for my anorexia. I remember early in my recovery hearing someone say that the disease is the same for both. I have found when that self loathing creeps up it does affect me however I also realize that this is a situation that can quickly lead to a H.A.L.T. problem if I allow those feelings to consume me. I have learned that in sharing there are several people with similar experiences. Afterall, in sharing our experience strengh and hope with each other we are able to help others and help ourselves. Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you were able to find information that helped you. Please feel free to contact me if there is something specific you are looking for and I will try and add it to my site. In the meantime take care HP bless and have a safe 24. Return to Main Page |
