Objectives

  1. The pursuance of recent international trends in science education at the different educational levels, starting from basic education till the university level, with adoption and adaptation of some of these trends to be implemented in Egypt.

    2.  

    2- Attempting to combat the cultural illiteracy among citizens, by disseminating science and technology in light of challenges of the new century as represented in dealing with advanced and high technology.

  2. Reviewing the present curricula in view of the national objectives of science education, and the vast flow of information. This requires reforming of the curricula systemically including content, textbooks, tools, aids, methodology and evaluation techniques...etc.

 

4- Construction of some curricular modules, applying some of the new trends in teaching and learning such as the systemic approach, and environmental and societal approaches. Such modules will be used as models for further activities in different science areas. These have to be experimented in some schools in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

 

5- Discovery of gifted students in schools so as to develop their potentials and talents and guiding them scientifically.

 

6- Developing the technological skills of students and teachers.

7- Emphasizing distant education including learning by the help of internet and video conferences.

 

8- Paying attention to educational security in order to preserve National affiliation with Egyptian and Arab Values within the international frame.

9- Paying attention to teaching interdisciplinary sciences and raising the awareness of their importance.
