My College
The University of Bahrain is the National University of the State of Bahrain. It is one of the leading
institutions in the Arabian Gulf.
The University was established in 1986 by merging two pre-existent colleges.The university aims at carrying out activities concerned with higher education and scientific
research in its colleges, institutions, research centers and its units to disseminate, develop,
preserve knowledge and make it accessible to members of society.
The university consists of the following colleges and centers:
- College of Arts
- College of Business
- College of Education
- College of Engineering
- College of Science
- English Language Center
- French Center
The College of science (which I belong to) in turn has several departments:
Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Maths and computer science.
Computer Science Department
The core curriculum in computer science includes courses in programming languages, computer architecture, data structures, analysis and design of algorithms, compiler design, discrete mathematics, automata theory, numerical methods, operating systems, system programming, database systems, system design and software development, computer networks, and object oriented concepts. In addition to the core curriculum the program offers students the opportunity
to select technical and free electives from several options.
